America’s Bias Against Atheists Persists

Give me a break, why would any atheist think other atheists are immoral? By who's standards? Whomever did this study was biased against atheists, which is obvious.  Solitary

Good questions. If you read the article, this is how they determined the religious status of the participants:

Participants provided information about age, gender, ethnicity, and religious affiliation, as well as measures of belief in God, political attitudes, and subjective socioeconomic status. Participants rated belief in God, from 0 (God definitely does not exist) to 100 (God definitely exists).

That is a huge scale, and that leaves questions like: if someone enters 33 on that scale, is he an atheist? A third atheist?? What about a score of 75? Is he is three-quart of the time a theist and one-quart of the time an atheist?  You can see there is a huge problem with such a scale, and it definitely renders the analysis blurry, to say the least.

Yeah, I don't like applying fuzzy logic to a mutually exclusive and collectively exhaustive binary.  A 33% atheist exists in the same manner that a 33% non-smoker exists.
