Sure....you can call me Dave (or Tom or Steve or Walt) ...as you please. But Dave is preferred.

Well,  I am preparing a treatise as homework and ill need to try and get inside the Mind of an Atheist to give answer to some sociological issues  from an Atheist viewpoint.   Im going to be posting a 'New Thread'  in General Discussion   once I have attained that capability by being a New Member here.  , to that effect .

I think that you will find that we are rarely if ever of one mind(excluding the whole lack of faith thing) on anything.
The only thing that we all have in common is our lack of belief in a god or gods.
Science doesn't give a damn about religions, because "damns" are not measurable units and therefore have no place in research. As soon as it's possible to detect damns, we'll quantize perdition and number all the levels of hell. Until then, science doesn't care.

1, it's a joke. 2, everyone knows we're godless, lawless, anarchy-loving atheist heathens. :)

Is the description in #2.  something you see as being accurate and true to life where the general Atheist Community is concerned ?    If so,  how is this a noble cause ?     As a Student ,  Ive come here to inquire about such things so please have patience with me as im Young and wet behind the ears I guess.   Thanks.

#2 is a stereotypical perception of atheists held by many theists. While except for the godless part the statement is not true for many of us it has become a joke among atheists.

Now, how do like your bbq baby?

They're just playing on the common (and totally wrong) stereotypes propagated by religious fundamentalists, that say all atheists are terrible immoral human beings that enjoy doing bad things for the heck of it.

Hence, the comment about doing things like "eating babies" and being "lawless anarachy loving heathens". You'd be surprised how many people seem to think we're actually like that  :-s

Anyway, no he isn't serious, no we don't actually eat babies, and most of us aren't lawless nor anarchy-loving.

We are, however, godless heathens. But that doesn't really mean anything more than just calling us atheists, as all of those words simply refer to people who follow no (or a different) religion. You'll have to take some of our comments with a bit of salt. We like to mess around, I guess. And if ever you aren't sure if we're being serious; just ask. Like you did now. That's totally a thing lots of people forget and then they get all sorts of weird ideas about atheists.

Thanks for explaining so well.     When you refer to Atheists as not being 'law-less'  ,  is this in reference to crime/road laws/civil laws  ?   Also,  does it refer to NON-laws yet disgraceful behavior which include adultery , orgies,  and the like ?    I guess what im trying to decipher within the Atheist Community is :   So long as its legal, then would most Atheists  find an action therefore permissible  since they don't go by established moral standards of an absolute nature  ?     And,  where do you personally fall into all of this for Yourself and what do you see as your justification ?   As you can probably tell,  Im a Philosophy major.   Thanks.

Again, that is completely arbitrary to the Atheist.  There seems to be a stereotype that all atheists are left leaning or socialist which tends to be false.

If I were to make a generalization, which I don't usually like to do, I would say that a lot of Atheists live and abide by most of the laws of their lands even if they don't agree with them and there often religious overtones. Nobody really wants to go to jail~

You also have to remember that not all Atheists are such out of philosophical points of views. A lot have no religion due to science. Some reject religions due to both.
