I've got a pretty wide music pallet, anywhere from Classical to Speed Metal, but recently I've found myself leaning more towards instrumentals or things of a similar nature.

I think it's because I like to sit back and imagine myself into the song, you know like making my own mental images for what scene the song would fit in.

So what's your opinion? Do you go for a more vocalized form of music, or do you like Instrumental types?

*instrumental counts as "Video game musics, Non-word based OST's, Classical, or things like Dubstep*

I really enjoy both, but I prefer instrumental, I suppose. Thinking on it now, a lot of my favorite songs are instrumental. Huh.

Personally, I think when I'm wanting power or an up-tempo mood to my music it tends to be song oriented.  When I'm looking for a mellow, more chilled out vibe I tend to lean toward instrumentals.

Instrumentals for me, and I hate screaming called singing.  :-$  Also so-called music without a melody. When I played in a Concert Band I liked to imagine what the music was saying. Here is an example called Mars: [youtube:3rpwqgl4]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0bcRCCg01I[/youtube:3rpwqgl4]   Solitary

One of my favorite instrumental artists is Andy McKee.

Lets see, in terms of musis, these are some of my favorite instrumentals.

Vigil *Game theme*- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w097Q0fZE-A

Each one of them I find I can make a scene in my head out of, that's why I love them, in the main. I also find the first and third calming, and the second epic.

@Solitary that first one you linked was quite epic :3

also I apologize for my lack of using quotes and imbedded vids and such, my computer is reacting well to the commands so I've resorted to older methods :P

All the music in the Mass Effect Trilogy is fantastic. The old composers have nothing on the ones that did the music in the series. Even the sound effects are great. It is by far my favorite video game for so many reasons. Solitary

Yeah, I agree with you on all fronts Solitary, Mass Effect had a terrific soundtrack, it was the first video game OST that I really loved. Perfect tones, and the great placement of them made them not only stick with you, but seem so perfect that you loved them.

And yes yes! I love classical, and that song was excellent though it's out of my usual area of classical music.

I usually stick with Wagner and types like that, the pumping rhythm, the strong brass and the nationalistic sounds always get me grinning like a fool.
