Yep.  Though there are plenty of options if one trade partner isn't forthcoming.  No such luck in space.

Personally, I'd liken a colony on the moon to a small colony in the colonial era, because that's a rough approximation of their situation - a small band of people dealing with a harsh environment, trying to survive far from home, relying on aid shipments that are sporadic and fraught with danger.  Historically, there have been a bunch of doomed colonies in North America with only a sea separating them from their origin point.  Even a modest outpost on the moon would be a massive undertaking.

Elise Stefanik (R-Trump) drops out of New York governor race and also won't seek reelection

She says that she'd likely win the primary but doesn't want red-on-red conflict.  Riiight.  She's effectively ceding the spot to another Trumpling, Bruce Blakeman a real big anti-masker (though I hear he's making a lot of exceptions this year, I wonder why)

In July 2024, the New York Times reported that Blakeman had recruited 75 people for a force of "special deputies" to deploy during emergencies. Many of them were former police officers. Critics described it as a militia force answering only to him. Blakeman was sued in February 2025 by Democratic county legislators opposing the special deputy force.

According to media reports, Blakeman ordered county agencies to not lower the American flag in respect after the death of former President Jimmy Carter, despite orders from Governor Kathy Hochul.

Sound like a real piece of work.  I can see why Trump would favor him.

The Epstein files are coming out. So far it's only pictures of Clinton with everyone else's faces blacked out. I wonder who's deciding what faces must be hidden, and what gets redacted? Any ideas?
