but what exactly did ordinary people find attractive about Trump? Oh, he's so likeable! HOW??? He has no charisma, no tact, no talents. Is it because he's fun to laugh at?

I've puzzled over that at length and haven't come up with any simple explanations. The best I can come up with was that the Democratic leadership tried to keep Biden's dementia hidden, and when it could no longer be hidden, appointed a candidate to replace him without a primary. Talk about cutting the voters out of the process. Now that was a spectacular conspiracy, cover up, and disregard of its constituents.

But still, Trump is such a half brained spectacle, even with the failure of Democratic leadership, Harris still should have won on the grounds that she had a functioning brain. Yeah, it's a head scratcher.

Well, we surrendered an annuity early (this year) to avoid the now unaffordable care act income cliff next year. Lots of people will be looking to reduce their reportable income in 2026 to afford insurance, so the IRS will get less. Good.

This talk of giving people a $2K Tariff check for healthcare is laughable. It's like one month of mid-tier HMO insurance.

Who could've possibly predicted that concentrating unchecked power into one guy would have bad consequences?

And the whole Bible part is rich.  I don't think he did much reading at Epstein Island.  And even if he did, he's clearly ruling according to his own whims, which I'm not entirely sure is necessarily better or worse than the unconstitutional theocracy this guy is promoting.  This guy needs to do a little light reading himself about the Separation of Church and State in the US.

I don't think Trump and his supporters think much about how all these new executive powers will be used by the next liberal president and their cabinet (who will not be composed of the contents of a clown car).

Unable to create serious rioting, the Pentagon is withdrawing National Guard troops from Chicago and Portland, claiming  they have gotten crime under control once an for all. They are hoping for better luck stirring the pot in Charlotte, where things seem relatively quiet for now.
