As an atheist... What do you think happens to us after death?

My atheism says nothing about whether or not there is an afterlife.

After all, there are Buddhist sects, that do not believe a god exists, but do believe in an afterlife.

The only thing atheism is concerned with, is whether one is convinced at least one god exists, or one is unconvinced at least one god exists.

When I apply skepticism and critical thinking, to the claim that some sort of afterlife exists, I am unconvinced of the claim. As soon as I am presented with verifiable, falsifiable, repeatable evidence that an afterlife exist, I will believe the claim. Until then, I don't concern myself with conjecture.

The time to believe a claim, is when there is evidence to support it, not a second before.

My atheism informs me there is no afterlife. There is no 'spirit', which I guess is supposed to be an invisible something that can exist in life and death. Sounds like an answer to a child's question with the parent not willing to say those simple three words--I don't know. No spirit, no god, no afterlife--when I die my particles will rot away in this universe and mix in with it.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent,
Is he able but not willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able or willing?
Then why call him god?

I was dead for three months once, induced coma to ease up on the pain. Didn't miss it, blink on/blink off/blink on and 90 days were gone. Death is going to be like that.
We 'new atheists' have a reputation for being militant, but make no mistake we didn't start this war. If you want to place blame put it on the the religious zealots who have been poisoning the minds of the young for a long long time."

I don't need to use atheism as a reason, or as a proponent of the theory. It seems pretty common sense to me. The idea is incredulous and fine for speculating, but to whole heartedly accept it is pure fantasy. Every living thing would be available for "life after death". Why do we insist only humans get such misery? And frankly, there are no rules to the assumption. Come back as a mouse and be relentlessly terrified? Or yourself but with no me,or of it? What is the grand net to an afterlife?
A humans desire to live is exceeded only by their willingness to die for another. Even god cannot equal this magnificent sacrifice. No god has the right to judge them.-first tenant of the Panotheust

After death? We rot. *shrug*

I never understood the belief in the afterlife, really. They're so afraid of death that they think they will live forever after they die. What sense does that make?

I certainly didn't have any visions or revelations when I was out for extended periods.

Let me add, that my atheism is a result of, critical thinking and skepticism, when correctly applied to the claim that god(s) exist. My atheism is not a worldview.

If anything could be said to be one of my worldviews, it is skepticism.

My atheism is also not a dogmatic position, it is a provisional one. Provided the lack of verifiable, repeatable, falsifiable evidence, and reasoned argument for the existence of a god(s), continues, my atheism will continue.

The same critical thinking and skepticism that leads me to the conclusion that the belief in gods is unwarranted, also leads me to the conclusion that belief in: an afterlife, ghosts, Ginn, Loch Ness monster, bigfoot, etc, etc, are also unwarranted.
