If God is gonna be proven to exist, which he doesn't, how will science do it?

So... We're atheists. Some sciencey theologian says he can prove God exists through science... If he were to succeed, how would he even do it?

Of course he won't. But if he does, how?

He (she) won't. You see, religion is the original trump--everything written and spoken is a lie. They believe that if they lie about it enough it will be accepted as real. Science is testing everything in a step by step method. Can't test made up 'reality'--no system can prove a non-reality.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent,
Is he able but not willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able or willing?
Then why call him god?

We 'new atheists' have a reputation for being militant, but make no mistake we didn't start this war. If you want to place blame put it on the the religious zealots who have been poisoning the minds of the young for a long long time."

Well, if prayers were actually as powerful as people claim them to be, then that would be a pretty good indication that some cosmic force was consciously listening and reacting to our requests. But we live in a world where "prayer warriors" are completely impotent, so...

Vainly begot, and yet forbidden vanity,
Created sick, commanded to be sound."

Peer reviewed studies would (a) define 'god', (b) state a hypothesis for existence, (c)produce an argument with experimental methods, evidence, supporting data and facts, (d) defend the argument and (e) make a positive conclusion that will be subject to scrutiny and retest forever.

Good luck with (a).

I can "prove" that a theistic God does not exist, using "incompatible properties" arguments.
Science isn't in the business of proving stuff, that's reserved for mathematics. 🤔

To find evidence of something's existence, you'd have to have a testable prediction first. But to have a testable prediction, you'd need a reason to generate that prediction. For example, Charles Darwin noted that the bones in bird wings looked like a number of fingers fused together, and that bird skeletons greatly resembled those of theropod dinosaurs. From these two facts, he predicted that if birds were descendants of dinosaurs, then we should find an early bird-like animal in the fossil record whose fingers had not yet fused. Two years after he published Origin of Species, they found Archaeopteryx.

No such body of knowledge exists to generate a prediction that could lead to discovering any type of god, currently. There is no reason any credible scientist would even try.
