Rules Anyone?

WARPED

If you grew up in a Christian school/home...I want to know what are the most ridiculous rules you were expected to follow as a child/teen.
Some of mine were:

1. 6 inch rule between members of the opposite sex at all times.
2. Females knees were to stay connected while sitting.
3. (this one was to me personally from my old principle) No drawing males with long hair.
4. No music besides church made music. No drums or electronics. Pretty much just piano, organ and occasionally an acoustic guitar.
5. No dating until college aged and with chaperones. Not two more buddies...had to be church members...to watch our every move O_O

Few of many rules but those seemed to be the craziest to me looking back.

Damn dude, sorry.

My parents didn´t really believe.
I was raised christian because my grandparents expected it.
My mom was raised quite strictly, I think. But not like what you are saying.

My siblings and I were given trust, freedomn and the message that if we wanted something out of life, we had to work it foe ourselves.

Sorry to hear this, man.

It wasn't so bad then. When you start so young, you don't really know any different. It was the norm.

Seems you have good parents. My mom pretty much raised me but it was the church that made the rules. My mom is an amazing person. Still invites me to church and gives me the stink eye from time to time from a new tattoo or whatever I get myself into but...a great mom.

I didn't have to live under too many strict rules, but I do remember my first (and last) sock hop, where I was told I was NOT to dance. I did get to hear Come Together, by the Beatles, so it wasn't a total loss. 😎

Worth it!

No doubt! I couldn't hear the Beatles when they were on Ed Sullivan, because besides all the teenyboppers in the audience screaming, I also had my sister screaming in my ear. I later became a big fan, of course. 😸
