He's a huxster.

Like father like son.

Eric Hovind is the son of convicted tax-dodger and creationist wingnut Kent Hovind. Since his father's imprisonment, Eric has taken over the running of his ministries. Despite having a slightly less annoying voice he's every bit as insane. He also shares his father's penchant for money-grabbing, but apparently not his stamina. Instead of Kent's rambling seminars, Eric treats you to 60-second-spots adorned with lavish CGI effects at the low, low price of only $9.95 per episode.  Hey, someone's got to pay off all those tax debts. Recently Hovind has decided to spread the Word to the atheistic liberal masses on YouTube, dispensing free nuggets of wisdom through his Creation Today series.

According to PZ Myers, Hovind insists that evolution is just a hypothesis and ignores the vast amount of published material confirming evolution. Alternatively, Myers suspects Hovind is ignorant of the published data confirming evolution. Like his father, Eric Hovind produces inept Young Earth Creationist arguments including Noah's flood.

In March 2012, Eric Hovind publicly debated Thunderf00t at Reason Rally for almost an hour, the video of this became popular on the internet. Eric argued that complete certainty is preferable (in the case of religion) and partially argued the straw man that atheists pretend complete certainty.

However many times a point was explained he kept repeating, 'but you can't be sure about it'. Can Eric Hovind be sure about God?

 Racism and hypocrisy

PZ Myers and others accuse Eric Hovind of racism and Myers also accuses Hovind of using false statistics to vilify immigrants. Hovind is further accused of republishing a grossly racist poem that also appeared on the Stormfront website. Later when he got into trouble over racism Hovind tried to deny it and accused the evolutionists of racism. Hovind now tells us that as a Christian he believes "all people are originally of one nation and one blood."

 Godonomics
It's not your money, it's God's money. Hovind got involved with something called "Godonomics," which means, among other things, that Hovind believes that it is wrong for governments to tax the rich. Keep in mind his father is still in jail for tax evasion! It's little more than rehashed supply side economics. Interestingly, this directly contradicts the very holy book he insists on reading literally.   Solitary

Weltfrieden

Kent is nothing more than a con artist. The jackass calls himself "Dr." while proclaiming to have a "degree" in Education. What he fails to mention though is that his "degree" is actually in "Christian education", a "degree" that he received from Patriot University. A bit of searching reveals that Patriot University is no longer at its original location of 2035 Church Avenue, Alamosa, CO. It has packed up and moved to 1135 French Street, Del Norte, CO while College Heights Baptist Church has taken its original location. The "institute", now known as Patriot Bible University, is an unaccredited Independent Baptist correspondence school which issue la religious degrees only, often on the basis of "life experiences" or "ministry evaluation". In other words, it's what is referred to as a degree mill. So not only is he a bumbling cesspool of idiocy, he's also a fraud with a fake degree from a fake university. I just hope his son ends up in jail soon too so that they can both rot in a cell.

But Lying For Jesus (tm) isn't lying, because you're doing the work of God.  8-)

Quote from: "Vixen92"Wow, at least if you're gonna try and diss evolution, get your facts straight. Rex-y did not have feathers, that is a whole other creature right there that had feathers, closer to a velociraptor.
Not only velociraptors, theropods.  Probably all of them, although we don't have fossils of all of them, let alone fossilized feather imprints.  (But feathers probably evolved in dinosauria only once, so if a genus had them, it had them.)
Afflicting the comfortable for 70 years.
