I worry about this generation.
The generation before that doesn't know how to shoe a horse or sew without a sewing machine.  Generally speaking.

As technology progresses and as jobs get more and more specialized, these sorts of skills become less common among the general public.  As with farming, the few people who still do it make it in abundance.  So no worries, the skill isn't actually ever lost - people still know how to grow crops and slaughter livestock - it's just a much smaller share of the population.  That frees up people to do other jobs - like manage servers, research/develop slaughter-free meat, and manage the company's Twitter account.
