"Fauci on US after coronavirus: No shaking hands ‘ever again’" ... I won't be shaking his incompetent hands.
Did you just call Anthony Fauci incompetent?!??!
A cynical habit of thought and speech, a readiness to criticise work which the critic himself never tries to perform, an intellectual aloofness which will not accept contact with life’s realities â€" all these are marks, not as the possessor would fain to think, of superiority but of weakness. -TR

I swear this pandemic is bringing out the worst in people.
It's bring out the people in people.  It's just magnifying what's already there, good and bad. Plenty of people are doing heroic stuff, some are being selfish and irresponsible, but a lot more are being responsible.

Everybody has their cards laid out on the table, and now we know how they are.

He's not the only one, and unfortunately people in power are eating this shit up.

https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2020/apr/10/ron-paul-former-gop-congressman-trump-should-fire-/

If you go through the Twitter comments for this, where Ron Paul calls for either Trump or "the people" to fire Fauci, you will see multiple GOP Senators parroting the same message.

This is what I was discussing with my mum. I've said to her I'm so thankful that the people who matter to me the most, her, my boyfriend's, my brother, nephews and sister in law, are all responsible and rational people, who are respecting the laws laid down that staying indoors, not going out unless necessary, and both protecting themselves and others by doing so.

Sadly this common sense isn't extending to everyone, like one of my mum's close friends who thinks it's fine to just go for a walk about without reason like food or dog walking, plus she's in her 80s and her husband had pneumonia last year.

In a way I kinda like how this thing reveals the true nature of people, for just how stupid, disrespectful and entitled some of them can be. But same time also show the good in others, like how one of the local schools near me had staff members make masks for the local hospital, or an at home bakery service had a gofundme raise £500 to make food for the hospital workers nearby.

People don't need to even go to those levels of good deeds, they just have to be sensible and obey social distancing, so as to help the NHS workers by not having another body to deal with. But some fuckers can't even do that.

Medically, no.  His expertise however is with HIV.  Doctors shouldn't be gods, especially to atheists.  He seems to be making political policy, not medical policy right now.  Authoritarians are eating it up.  Back when I took my daughter to her pediatrician, I didn't ask for his political opinion too.  I don't take medical advice from politicians either (including Pence and Trump).

@Munch ...

Your mom's friend in her 80s ... they don't think straight.  Neither do the 18-22 year olds.  My mother was really obstinate in her 80s.

Dr Fauci's politics? ...

"FAUCI SAYS "IMMUNITY CARDS" MAY BE COMING AS AUTHORITARIAN NIGHTMARE EXPANDS EXPONENTIALLY" ... no thanks.  Chip all the Dems so we can track them on Google Earth ;-)  They are the ones who wan't a CCP style electronic population control system?  I will not be chipped.  Will not accept a pass from the Gestapo to go to the grocery store (after the lockdown).  I am happy to social distance during the lockdown.  Not in HS, don't need a %&%&$ hall pass.

"Ron Paul: Trump Should Fire Fauci, He Wants "To Have Total Control Over The People"" ... another very old guy.  Fauci is 79.  Ron Paul is 84.  Senility anyone?  This is why my daughter won't vote for senior citizens.

I saw the picture of Dr Fauci together with many of the "elite" like George Soros etc ...I don't like the company (Bill Gates Foundation) he keeps.  Can Dems even imagine, that if Dr Fauci serves in the Trump administration, he might have anti-Dem motives?  Yes, we want totalitarian control, because Dems will control it, not Repubs?

"Google/Apple JV's Dystopian COVID-19 Tracker Could Be Straight Out Of Orwell's 1984" - using Google data to alert users if you come into contact with a person with Covid-19 … and tied to Google Maps.  How are people with Covid to be tracked?  Has to be RFID chips.  Not everyone has an iPhone.  They would have the capacity to track one third of human race in real time.  NSA probably already has this data, but this would be an opportunity for ordinary people with smart phones to get their own 1984 data feed.  People will accept total loss of civil rights, if they buy in.  This is merely a reuse of the social-ranking system CCP already uses.

sometimes you can't always trust even scientists. Most of them might be evolved beyond religious doctrine which inhibits scientific progression, but sadly we also live in a time where another form of regressive mental blocks hold things back from rational sense.

https://www.scmp.com/news/china/society/article/3079293/coronavirus-nature-magazine-apologises-reports-linking-covid-19

Afraid of offending others, rather then accepting the reality of where this virus started from, some scientists would rather not offend people with the outrageous notion that this virus started in a province in china, after all china has never done anything that might lead to deadly outbreaks!

Quote“Continuing to associate a virus and the disease it causes with a specific place is irresponsible and needs to stop.”

Fuck off. Rather then accepting responsibility for a corrupt and broken system and broken health violations, you'd rather pull the race card. Fuck off Sarah Zheng, thousands are dead because of china's irresponsibility.

We don't know the exact origin of this virus.  We might never know, and even China might not know.  Some people who used to work at that germ warfare lab are ... missing.  There is a problem with PC though it started out as a positive.  But people being assholes, they ruined it.  Beware your proctologist.

Practicing doctors (as opposed to institute managers) have specialties, and shouldn't practice outside their specialty.  This is particularly true of medical researchers (who know more and more about less and less).  I wish we were relying on a coronavirus specialist for the public face of this.  HIV isn't the same, unless of course it actually is a weapon that incorporates HIV code, as claimed early on by Indian researchers.

Well the only reason we're never know, is because china won't reveal anything, but since the virus didn't start it spread anywhere else before china, unless someone wants to claim it was brewed in an evil america laboratory and released in china, along with the other viruses that started out there in recent years, we can conclude they have a habit of covering up the reasons why this keeps happening.

China doesn't want to share facts with the rest of the world, because it would burst the bubble covering its perfect utopia.

Say what you like about america, europe, the middle east, least those regions are mostly open about their failings.

And yes I know american intelligence failed to give better warning of this, but that doesn't absolve china of whats happened.

Yes, Trump is really Stavro Blofeld, who cooked up this virus in his secret laboratory under the White House!  The God-Emperor really is a genius, but an evil genius!!

My favorite version of Stavro Blofeld.  I would definitely put my secret lab under a Japanese volcano, not under the White House ;-)  Maybe this is how the incompetent virus researchers in Wuhan disappeared.  This his how I imagine Dr Fauci, or the people who are using him for their own evil ends.  Of course wanting a war between the US and Russia is more Hillary's style.

Well, it seems like my job will be opening up next week...

Do I risk my life, and my grandmothers, so we can pay bills... or hope that unemployment's website will actually work so I can apply for that... and if it doesn't, lose my phone and my ability to pay for my car.

Fun times.

If you are recalled to work and refuse you could lose your unemployment eligibility. If the state checks with your employer to verify your status they will tell them you quit. The state almost always does this, but these days who knows. They may be handling to many claims to bother.

Will there be any safety precautions at work?  Things like distancing and hand washing?

Take known prophylactic treatment, don't wait 18 months for Bill Gates vaccine.  Do you have a antibiotic prescription?  Take it.  Got vitamin C?  Take it.  Got zinc supplement (I have a mixed one, calcium/magnesium/zinc that has 100% daily zinc ... bad for my kidney stones, but I won't be taking it forever, only if I get symptoms).  Take it.  Got multivitamins?  Take it.  Got tonic water with genuine quinine?  Drink it.  I also swear by vitamin e, and ginger/tumeric for cough.  If your work lets you mask up, wear it.  Social distance from your grandmothers.

PS ...

"Texas gov Abbott eyes reopening state businesses as he preps executive order laying out guidelines" ... Shiranu won't be the only one going back to work.  But don't worry about the vaccine, they are testing it in Australia, which has less than 100 Covid deaths.
