Enjoy being in debt for the next 15 years to afford a setup like that.

Honestly at the moment there aren't any games I'm super excited about. I'll probably still be playing civ and ME and skyrim in 2014, probably in 2015 too.

Titanfall looks okay, not spectacular. Same as destiny

I'm wary of mass effect 4, personal reasons there.

I stopped playing FF after 10

The one and only game I'm looking forward to is DA3, other than that

Zip.

At least ME, Civ, and skyrim age well. Particularly the latter two

So I tried Bioshock 2. Yeah, I know. It's not as good as the original and just a cash grab by 2K while they were waiting for the development on Bioshock Infinite to finish, but I wanted to try it, so I did and well,...

It is a lesser game, no doubt about it. However, it does make many improvements over the original. The new hacking mini-game, which I thought I would hate, turned out to be much, much better. Part of that is owing to the remote hacking tool.

Less impressive is the dual-wielding of plasmids and weapons at the same time. The controls just didn't lend itself to intuitive switching between weapons or switch to a weapon can also change the ammo, or changing ammo could accidentally change the weapon. So I would up shooting those remote hacking darts at people instead of using the machine gun.

I was annoyed that it had you playing as a big fucking daddy the entire time, which was the worst part of the original. Well, that's not true. There's a sequence where you play as a little fucking sister. It was an eerie juxtaposition seeing the world how the sisters see the world and then seeing how things really are briefly, but there's not fucking gameplay here. There are splicers, but they do not attack. You cannot be hurt. It's a waste of fucking time.

Overall, I didn't hate the game, but it remains completely unnecessary. The minor gameplay improvements are not enough to justify it's existence. Often the references to the original felt shameless, like Greedo's appearance in Episode I. Why is this here? To make the cunts happy, I suppose. Pity that.

Greedo appears in episode 1?

The more you know...

Dice wars, a decent little flash game if you're bored. It's like risk except you don't pick where your men spawn.

ITs not super fun, but it can be entertaining.

Add Watchdogs and Infamous: Second Son to that list, as they both look fantastic.
As for me, I spent about to days vainly trying to get myself interested in Skyrim, and then one more day forcing myself to finish Dead Money for New Vegas (worst add-on to a game I have ever played). Bethesda and I have a very complicated relationship it seems.

Xbox 360 > high-end PC   #-o (because updating the graphics card drivers apparently counterbalances years of obsolescence)

the computer will trump the console every time; the one advantage a console has is that as operating systems get replaced on computers, the games won't work anymore. A windows 95 game won't work on its own on a Windows 7 OS.

But I can still plug in my PS and play FF7.

Also a console is cheaper, usually.

And I prefer skyrim on an xbox because of the controller

That's it!

You can also plug in an old pc with an old operating system and still play your old games. Or even run a virtual machine.

The main advantage of consoles is/was ease of use. Sometimes price, but that's mostly because they're outdated; a really cheap pc costs about the same.

Please, for the love of various non-existent deities, don't turn this into a console vs. pc thread. Those never end well, and almost always become needlessly mean spirited.
So..... I also finished Snake Easter the other day. Still a little disappointed. And for the life of me I can't figure out why all the Cobras just explode when you beat them.
Also, has anyone played the Tomb Raider Reboot? I have it on request from the library, and from what I've seen it looks really fun.

Ah we run into the whole console/pc thing every once in a while, but I think most of the pros and cons of each are known to the point where there's little left to argue over :P

I picked up Path of Exile again for a bit, but the server still seems a bit laggy and the game is too brutal for a glass cannon to survive lagspikes so I figured I'd try out a Witch instead. It's fun so far.

Anyone remember old red alert? Haven't played it in years. I loved it growing up though, even bought the collectors edition for RA3.

RA2 was my favorite

Tried playing it on the collection for PC. All the games stopped working within a month or so, except Renegade, which the only one I had no desire to play. God that game was awful.

I just got back in to starcraft 2. I've been getting massacred, but my friend gave me a few tips that are at least making it easier to get better.

plus, I'm not too sure this is true, but if this Dreamcast 2 comes out, I will cry tears of joy. Dreamcast is tied for second for my favorite console of all time. (the other being SNES)

RA2 was great but the Russians really take it up the shorts in the expansion from prism spam and lots of mind control (which either forces soviet armies to infight to death or does the ol' mind-control/grinder combo, especially with engineer-ferrying flak tracks).  Also, brutes are practically useless against anything but tank destroyers.  Best faction:  Yuri with captured allied con yard.  Most satisfying thing in the world:  chronoshifting enemy MCVs and/or war miners into the ocean.
