Skyrim is very fun, I did a argonian archer for a long time, but from what I've seen, a two handed melee works exceptionally well

Quote from: "Agramon"Had a few days off of work, so I picked up Skyrim off of a Steam sale. I've never played an Elder Scrolls game before, so it took a while to get used to some concepts like merchants running out of money. Blocking and one handing seem fairly useless compared to getting the biggest goddamn sword you can get and charging in, so I've been doing that style of play lately. So far, so good.

EDIT: Also, dragons are kind of pussies. I thought they'd be much more difficult to fight, but so far I can almost regen faster than they can blow fire/cold on me and once they land they're fucked. Maybe the later ones get more difficult.

Actually once you get a decent amount of Stamina and some of the block skills, sword and board becomes super OP. Bash them in the face with your shield and then kill them while they're staggered.

Also, I recommend these mods:

Climates of Tamriel
Skyrim Redone by T3nd0s
Unofficial Skyrim Patch

Pretty sure one of those redoes the skill constellations to be more sensible and useful.

Also the mod Alternate Start - Live another life lets you start the game from a variety of different locations and circumstances. Most importantly you can skill the long, drawn out opening sequence in Helgen. Some options even have you starting the game owning a house. Others have you in a half sunken ship wearing rags. Theres like 12 alternate starts. Its a great mod.

Also need to be sure to get SkyUI with Better Sorting and Better Magic.. It makes the PC inventory and spell menu's a trillion times more bearable.

You didn't know? In real life all you have to do is stand behind a stone pillar and the dragon can't hurt you. I'd say it's pretty realistic

Dragons are weak at lower levels, whoever eventually they strengthen to badass level

Fighting dragons is hard when you're a badass Viking Nord who don't need no weapons or magic.

Play on legendary difficulty from the start.  I bet you that if you encounter a dragon outside of town (no help) and before you get your enchantment to 100 (2 magicka free spell schools), you will definitely not think that dragons are weak.

Yeah but then like wolves and bandits would also rape the shit out of you.

(free Steam game for PC)

Diablo style gameplay with elements that are quite reminescent of Final Fantasy VII. (linked itemslots to combine skill-gems. The gems grow in level). Also throw in the huge cross-characterclass skilltree, and there's an insane amount of differing builds possible. Taking in-game gold out of the equation was a clever way to ensure loot rellevancy. Stuff you don't need will be traded in for usefull scrolls, or item-transforming orbs.  Orbs that can turns a vanilla item into a magical one, or change the properties of a magical item, or upgrade a magical item to a special item, or add sockets, or increase the quality of armor or weapons. Loot-upgrading loot.

I can see why IGN voted this PC game of 2013

No religion for me thank you very much; I 'm full of shit enough as it is.

Being flabbergasted about existence never made anyone disappear in a poof of flabbergas, so nevermind why we're here. We ARE here.

Thanks for all the Skyrim advice guys! I'll look into the mods this weekend hopefully. I ended up stumbling into a ruin and found Otar's mask (lots of elemental resistance). Shortly thereafter I picked up Volendrung from the Orcs. Not only does it hit like a truck but it looks cool as hell (especially with the pulsing red glow):

With that warhammer and Otar's mask, the only things I really worry about dying to are large groups of casters in small rooms or giants, of course.

Ever have a game that you feel like live mastered?

For me that's ME3, I finally found the perfect class, ammo combination, squad makeup, and weapons to simply roll the enemy.

Also I used to be a pretty elitist paladin healer in WOW

Quote from: "Hijiri Byakuren"I just got Starbound. :-D

Me too.

The lack of instruction is annoying. Worse, in the beginning it spawned me right next to a monster that can kill me in one hit.

Its one of those games that I know will be fucking amazing once I get the hang of it, but I am having trouble finding the will whatever never mind.
