It doesn't sell because the way the controller screen and the actual screen interact makes gameplay difficult and confusing, and half the time it's basically an incredibly expensive handheld. I wanted to believe that the Wii U would be good, but playing it killed that dream for me.

I feel like it has the potential to be good, but Nintendo seems to think that they can make games for it exactly like they would for the DS, and it hurts the system. The new Mario in particular suffers from this badly. I can't give it higher than a 4/10, much as I'd like to. Scribblenauts Unlimited is also pretty bad, I don't even understand why I need the Wii U for it. Even graphically, it feels exactly like it was ported from the DS. I am REALLY hoping they get their shit together by the time Smash U comes out, because a good Smash game would make having the system actually worthwhile.

I think some of the games are still on the lower end graphics tier. but when i saw people playing the new bayonetta... geeze. those were much better graphics than I've seen on a nintendo console. I think nintendo graphics can be really good with the U, but the games for the most part are just more cartoony to begin with...

At this time I personally don't see any compelling reason to buy any of the three systems.

The Wii U seems to have been released too early, and doesn't have the technological power of its competitors. Which is really bad since its competitors are using relatively old technology as well (when compared to a modest modern PC). The final nail in the coffin for me is that I don't care about any of the traditional big sellers that nintendo usually has. I don't care about any mario game at all and I never will, for example.

The Xbone worries me. They have inferior hardware when comapred to the PS3. In addition there have been some questionable design decisions that lead me to believe MS is moving away from the Xbox being a gaming console and toward the Xbox being an all inclusive media center. I don't want or need that, and I am unwilling to buy a machine that sacrificed gaming performance so that it can act as my entertainment center.

The PS4's game lineup is currently shit, and the games it does have that I desire to play are also available on PC right now. There will probably be one or two games that are PS4 exclusives that I would very much want to play, but the prospect of dropping 5-600 dollars just to play them is repellant to me. If I am going to buy an expensive console I want it to be because there are a ton of games on it that I want to play, not just a couple.

Pff, everyone knows indie games for the PC are the way to go these days. :P Easy on the specs, far more creative than anything the big companies come up with, and they're cheap. I'll take S.P.A.Z. and AI War over console stuff any day. :-D

I was looking forward to Killzone Shadow Fall for the PS4, as it was a launch title with the system. But its score on Metacritic is 74, which is considerably less than the 85 of the third game and MUCH less than the 90+ of the second game. What helped Killzone 2 so much is that it was obviously such a ridiculous improvement over the first game, both single player gunplay wise and in terms of multiplayer, which I believe could have up to 30 people, which is a lot for a console.

You are right .Nintendo quit to compete with Microsoft and Sony after  gamecube poor sales . That's why the Wii and Wii U was designed with poor specs . Both consoles are way underpowered compared to the competition. The wii was a very successful fad because  the unique controller and low price . The wii u is in trouble because the poor marketing and nobody cares about the tablet controller . The Wii U is also a very expensive console for what it is . 299 dollars for a console barely more powerful than playstation 3 and Xbox 360 is a ripp off .

I agree with you  . PC's  are much more powerful than consoles . I will buy the playstation 4 when games start to appear.

Maybe I'll just rig up this dead computer I have laying around. I think it just needs a new hard drive. Ill have it run emulators and steam and hook it up to my tv... It's gotta work better than the Wii U, going by your guy's experience with it.

I love Nintendo games . Nintendo games are high quality but the latest Nintendo consoles are crap . I stop buying Nintendo consoles after the game cube.
