That was one feature I didn't like back before D3 came out, and I am not surprised to see it go.

I am genuinely shocked. Yes it was a bad feature, but I can't remember the last time Blizzard completely removed a feature from any of their games. This is Blizzard devs admitting they fucked up so bad that the situation is not salvageable and they are going to amputate.

I decided to get GTA even though it statistically wasn't going to work on my xbox... and in 5 hours it has only locked up twice.

This game is amazing, and the fact that it is even running makes it all the more enjoyable. Had a shit day, but at least the final 1/4th of it went my way :).

This. But it is really, really fun... its pretty much everything good from the previous GTAs put into one as well as having really fun shooting for once.

I was really, really, really hyped for Rome 2 Total War, but unfortunately, it's getting horrible reviews.  :(  Looks like I'm going to have to wait for a patch or expansion to fix the issues.

I'm glad I haven't yet decided to buy it becuase it probably won't run too well on my machine. Hopefully in a few months it'll be awesome and I'll have a new machine to run it on  8-)

So I was fiddling around with one of my old computers earlier, I was trying to play Panzer General and it doesn't work on my newer ones, so I dusted off an old one and plugged it in.

So I'm exploring the old XP system laughing at my old games and such when I accidentally hit the wow icon, the game launches and it sends me to the load in screen. I hadn't updated that machine's wow since October 2008, it still registered patch 3.0.2, right at the beginning of Wrath of the Lick King.

While Blizzard retracts their MTX Auction House, JaGeX has now launched a fully MTX option for RuneScape players: bonds. Bonds are basically an intermediary for irl cash for ingame cash, just as most newer MMOs these days, except they haven't even made it different from any other tradable item. It's directly irl cash for ingame gold coins, start price at 5$ for 15m gold.

I, and many others, saw this coming ever since SoF was released. I bet Insight Venture Partners (the main stock-owner of JaGeX) wanted a better fiscal year for their JaGeX capital earnings, so demanded for yet another price hike in the form of MTX, now going full retard.

This is the final MTX, RuneScape is now fully pay-2-win (Where Loyalty Shop was the beginning). By this time next year on September 2014, when the next fiscal year comes to a close on the 30th I predict that IVP will sell their shares of JaGeX either back to the main shareholders in the company, or to another venture capital firm since it will not meet the projected profitability next year.

Me? I will go down with this ship. I have been playing since early 2005, and I'd like to see it end some day.

This is basically the history repeating itself for many MMOs, just RuneScape has been longer running than, e.g., Matrix Online or Shadowbane.

Not all MMO's have followed this pattern...but yeah, it is becoming the norm lately, and I find that sad.

Also...Shadowbane!  You are the first person besides my husband I have ever met that has even heard of that game.  I loved it, thought it was fun and original in many ways (thought the gankfests were very bad sometimes),and was sad when it died.
