What a game.
Discovery mod.

See you in a year.

Quote from: "Plu"The price and the simplicity. A console lets you pop in a disc and play.

And wait a half hour for all the patches to download and install.

PC vs console gaming really hasn't meant what it did twenty years ago because the gap between them has gotten smaller and smaller over time.

Quote from: "frosty"PickelledEggs I added you on LoL but you didn't accept my request.

As for the never ending PC vs console debate, I think it all comes down to self preference. Of course the PC has many more options and features available that consoles simply do not but I feel like more of a 'gamer' when I use the console instead of the PC. Perhaps it's because I grew up playing console games, or perhaps because the entire theme of a console is to play video games (with some side features) while a PC can do many more things. The PS3 has tried to bridge this gap, and it seems it is the only console to somewhat successfully combine the console tasks and miscellaneous tasks into a modern gaming console system.
Oh lol sorry I haven't been on in a few days. I'll accept it. I have to make sure I don't go on for some days, otherwise I don't get anything done....

I should also probably point out that I started watching Death Note On Sunday and I basically finished it already... so yea... I wasn't on LoL

Shiranu

Yeah but, I mean, Death Note is totally worth it.

Yes it is. Did you notice how they named the main character Light? as in Angel of Light... as in Satan? I thought that was really clever.

No spoilers btw... I'm not done yet

I know. But somehow it seems that public perception hasn't really caught up to that yet or something.

All I remember about consoles was the HUGE difference between playing Morrowind on the Xbox and PC.

On the Xbox, loading/saving was glacial and it had crashing/freezing issues (it'd sometimes lose 2-3 hours of progress to a random crash).  On PC, even for a lackluster PC at the time, the game was slightly faster and more stable, and that's only gotten better with time.  After a while, all these awesome mods started coming out and it wasn't too terribly difficult to take the hint that if you want to Morrowind, PC is the way to go.

If consoles didn't have exclusives, I doubt I would ever have one.

Thats what happens when you try to port a PC title to a console. You have to lop off huge pieces or at least make major display and performance sacrifices so it will run on the vastly inferior hardware and even then its slow, never works quite right and looks like absolute shit.

Developers realized it was much easier to develop for console then port it to PC. Even Bethesda figured this out by the time Skyrim was released. The result? Video games in general are half a decade or more behind the hardware designed to run them.

Thanks consoles :D

And their controls suck balls because you control the menu with some crummy controller input instead of just being able to click stuff. Ports to pc are shit. It's annoying as fuck. It even messes up Skyrim quite a bit.

Nonsensei

Ive wondered before how awesome Skyrim could have been if they weren't restricted by console hardware limitations.

You kind of get a hint when you look at the insane number of mods that have come out for the PC. HD texture packs. Sound packs. Mods with new areas. An overhauled crafting system. New weapon types and models. The list is pretty much endless.

In other news, some yokels at diablofans.com have somehow gotten a hold of the D3 expansion client and have datamined it. There are strings referencing a ladder system and full guild support as well as an overhauled chat interface.

Its possible RoS will make D3 stop being a complete pile of shit.

Unless they somehow changed it from being a boring grind-fest, I doubt I'll check out the new version either.

And they're garish on a PC.  Oblivion is a perfect example of that.  Skyrim was much better, but even then, it's not too difficult to spot signs of consoleitis here and there.
