Documentary Following Mark Rathbun, Former Scientologist

On channel 4 over here in England (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Rathbun), pretty crazy.

Quick history, the guy used to be Miscaviage's second in command and was responsible for 'enforcing' the [s:1g1mgkpk]church's[/s:1g1mgkpk] cult's rules with members who appeared to want to leave.

He was forced out by Miscaviage and decided to carry on practicing as an independent Scientologist whilst publishing a blog which is supposedly one of the biggest threats to Scientology ever and has resulted in more independent movements starting than at any other time.

The documentary was interesting because the guy was a pioneer of the aggressive attack methods that we're all familiar with this shitty cult, and actually becomes a victim of it as the cult starts sending in the troops to his new home in Texas. Part of me said "fuck him, he caused misery to many who were in the same position as him", but as the documentary continues it becomes clear that actually he's probably one of the only people that truly threatens Miscaviage and the other loons at the top because he knows everything about it and what the people are like. Of course, they're still all loons because Scientology is batshit insane, but it's good to see the cult starting to be eroded by the very members that make up its membership and balance sheet.

This is a story close to my own heart. Miscavige is taking Rathbun's blog extremely seriously, there's no doubt about that. He's been 'fair gamed' worse than anyone since Paulette Cooper. Here's the blog.

OSA has even set up fake blogs in Rathbun's name to defame him. He doesn't live in TX anymore, the harassment just became too intense. Miscavige even went so far as send a group of 'squirrel busters' to intimidate him. You have to see this shit to believe it.

He's living in a more secluded area now for security reasons. I have to admit I miss seeing video's of 'Casablanca,' as he called the stream front property he was renting. Absolutely beautiful place.

Because he continues to practice Scientology independently, he's a controversial figure with the anti-Scientology movement. While I can understand those concerns, I have to admit that anyone who pisses off Miscavige this much can't be all bad. I'm pretty sure I will meet him at some point.
