Actually both cents and nickels are marginal ... in terms of face value vs metal value.  But it is illegal to melt them down, since they are government property (as is the paper currency and the official digital currency (but not Bit Coin etc).  With the general monetizing of everything in the economy since 2000, it is hard to tell what is money and what is not money.

We could use government issued debit cards ... for most purchases.  In fact, we do use bank issued debit cards and credit cards and the banks are like a 4th branch of government.  It is hard to limit all transactions to money, and have all money be digital ... in practical terms.  There is no separation between politics and economics ... all money is government money (except for Bit Coin etc) either directly or indirectly.  It is the intention to let Bit Coin etc experiment for awhile, before the government take it over, just as the government did with private issue paper money (private bank notes) during the US Civil War.

What will wipe out existing coins already happened in other countries, for example in Israel in the 1970s.  After the Yom Kippur War, Israel was bankrupt.  They simply replaced all notes X with 10X notes, with the same designs.  All the coins had to be pulled in, and new coins issued to replace them.  When the US goes bankrupt (due to mismanagement) something similar will happen here.  I am not sure that pure digital money will ever be OK with the American public, since we know that nothing the government does, is trustworthy.

But still, man...I didn't really post this stuff so much for the information value(which is SUBSTANTIAL), as for the pure feeling of laughter, that I hoped to share. Okay, first, let me say, I honestly do love you, Brother...you are one of the first members that I interacted with, on this forum... I know it seems weird,... but...oh well...

And I didn't mean to be a dick about your calculating, the total time of John Oliver segments, that I've posted(although it does seem a little dickish, on your part as well...)

But, to answer your question... so far I've tried Ambien, Lunesta, Restoril, Ativan, Silenor, Xanex, and OTC Melanonin. Of all of those, only Xanex has worked, at all, and then only for a couple of hours at a time(and my doctor warned me, that Xanex won't continue to work indefinitely, because my body will adapt).

Right now I'm to the  point of alleviating the symptoms, with BEER, and that can potentially have some serious consequences as well, in the long run...

SO...as I crack open yet another Boxer beer, and anticipate 11:00(Bedtime), I can say that I appreciate your heartfelt concern, and all I can offer in return, is...

I as well, have some sleeping issues. I take half a xanax and two benedryll a half hour before nighty nite. The benedryll gets me to sleep and the xanax keeps me there. Been working well for about 5 years. I do not take them on Friday or Saturdays or Holidays. Works great for me. I suggest you give it a try.

Here's where I am coming from, with Last Week Tonight:

To contrast John Oliver, with a teacher that I had in Bible College(yeah...I know Bible College...but still...it had a few really good professors...), there was one asshole, who taught, "Life of Christ" class, who was so fucking incompetent, that his whole philosophy-of-teaching was to REPEAT THE SAME INFORMATION 3 TIMES. He would give the students the simplest of ideas, then say it again, with a slightly different sentence structure, two more times. And he did this FOR THE ENTIRE CLASS, EVERY SINGLE DAY. Literally, EVERYONE, in the class, was falling asleep, and I don't remember ANYTHING that he tried to force-fuck into my brain.

I WISH that John Oliver had been one of my teachers. He gives me a well-researched lesson, on a subject, that I never knew that I cared about, in 20 minutes, or less, and(this is important) just as I'm about to either get angry, or cry, he makes me laugh so hard, that I will never forget the information in the lesson.

It is necessary to be repetitive to learn, but I save that for "assessment" in class, and ask most of the repetition to be done by my students outside of class, as homework.  Most of what I do in class is introduce new material that is multimedia.  People learn thru touch, vision and hearing.  Lecture is a terrible thing on its own.  It takes 3.5 hours of homework, per class, per week ... to make any gains.  That is 30 mins per day, every day.  So it doesn't make sense to take 6 classes at the same time.  That means 3 hours class time per week per class, and add 3.5 hours homework/library research (we didn't have Internet).  That makes 39 hours per week man ... how can we party under that much pressure! ;-))

On the other hand, reading puts me to sleep overtime, when I do it in bed.  I can suggest some really dull reading material!  Greek is a good choice.  Try Hebrew and learn to read right to left.  Arabic is much harder, so is Chinese.
