Dollar Shave Club?

Am I missing something? The dollar shave club razors are nothing more than the old safety razors I shaved with back in the 60s. All that multiblade technology done in by old tech? Somebody please explain this to me.

What you're talking about are the Micro Touch One safety razors that the Pawn Star dude advertises. The Dollar Shave Club sells a once a month subscription to a disposable.

All I can say is I wish I had come up with the latter since it just sold for $1 billion.

Dollar shave club has some pretty horrible reviews.  To all the lurkers out there, I'd steer clear.

And yeah, I don't get the whole monthly shaving club thing.  I use mach 3 and get a 4-cartridge refill about every 6 months.  And I can grow a full beard in a couple days.

I had a subscription to Dollar shave club, the blades worked great, imo. But then I remembered that the only thing I shave is my nutsack, so needing a constant influx of refill blades isn't on the top of my list. Other than that, they're dirt cheap and work great. you can also opt for once every other month, so you don't get as much.

Lol. I have a trimmed beard and once a week clean my neck with my $20 Remington hair and beard trimmer. Haven't bought a razor in 5 years. And every six weeks get a $6 haircut from Rita's. Pretty much got the hair thing down to a science.

Btw, if you want to get a beard/hair trimmer, the Remington kit from Walmart is pretty close to indestructible, has beaucoup attachments and you can trim your beard easily once you take the time to learn how. figure $20 plus tax instead of the $14 plus tip I used to spend every month is a win.

I just use a... some German brand... electric razor. Have had it for about 6+ years now, never have replaced the blades nor oiled it or anything. But then I only shave about once every 4-5 months and just use scissors to keep the long strands even. I cant stand being clean shaven, so I cant see me ever using a traditional razor. It's the worst feeling in the world, and I say that as someone who has had kidney stones. I rather go through that again then feel that disgustingly smooth skin.

I don't actually have a beard.  I go clean shaven.  I just said I can grow a beard in a couple days to indicate that I have to shave frequently.

Went from a beard in my beard growing youth in the Navy- I was allowed, other services weren't- to clean shaven because of having to wear an air mask to bearded to clean shaven- I hate shaving, mainly. Have very tender skin and get rashes. But long hair is annoying to deal with and long unkempt beards also a pain. So I zeroed out at a neat beard and generally short hair. Prefer the Remington beard trimmer because razors, even multiple bladed ones, give me rashes.

Nope! I forget which Godfather movie it was…..but ain't nobody touching me with a straighter razor. The only…ONLY movie scene ever that has affected my lifestyle choices..seriously.

Meh.. I tried to get high with my mothers hormone pills as a teenager (her theory anyway) so I never really had a need to shave more than every few months. It could be my grandfathers genes though being Cherokee.  I can't remember the last time I actually shaved my face. I use an electric hair trimmer and get it kind of close.
I was the only one in boot camp who didn't have to shave. Commander got up really close and just said 'Fuck it..smoother than a babies ass! Don't let me even catch you shaving. You'll cut your throat. '   It's still just a tiny patch in my chin and neck and a few odd hairs here and there and that didn't even start growing till it was already gray..
The thing is the few times I have bothered to shave I've never cut myself..

As a matter of fact, the Nay ships I served aboard (back then) for air contaminant reasons didn't allow spray foam for shaving. We all used brush soap and a few had straight razors. I have shaved with the straight razor I inherited from my father. Brush soap works just fine if you are patient, and brushing the soap on to your face is actually kind of pleasant. But it doesn't do much to help razor burn.
