A fascist is a person that is dictatorial or has extreme right-wing views. Forcing people to vote is dictatorial. Solitary

Fascism is authoritarian but not all authoritarians are fascists, and a law passed by federal constitutional republic requiring people to vote is not authoritarian.

Polling places..? Lines..? Who ever heard of such a thing...

Here in Oregon voting is done entirely by mail. It's quite convenient, and it appears that Oregon has an above-average voter turnout rate compared to other states in most elections.

Obama did not float the idea of making voting mandatory. I've read several news articles about this and have also read the transcript of his remarks. Nowhere did he say the U.S. should institute mandatory voting. He said other countries do it, and "it would be transformative if everybody voted." The mainstream media ran with that and read into it much more than Obama said. This is much ado about nothing and symptomatic of the anti-Obama sentiment rampant in our culture.
