Should Atheist Be More Moderate About Religious Dogma?

A lot of theists prefer the old days when blacks, gays, and atheists remained in the closet and gave theists full control of the podium.  But that's not fair is it?  Why should minority groups have to buckle under the thumb of religion?  All I ever heard for most of my life was, "God this, God that, bla bla bla."  Why can't atheists stand up and express a different point of view?

The problem is that theists haven't yet come to understand that continually beating others over the head with dogma they cannot prove annoys some people who wish they would stop doing it.  But too often when they are challenged, they assume a sword fighting stance with one arm raised behind their head and the other pointing at the challenger, while they warn, "The wages of sin is death!"  Sheesh!  What does a person have to do to get them to stop?

It all depends on what it is meant by "militant atheist". Criticism of oppressive ideologies doesn't fall in that category, in my opinion.
We 'new atheists' have a reputation for being militant, but make no mistake  we didn't start this war. If you want to place blame put it on the the religious zealots who have been poisoning the minds of the  young for a long long time."

What they mean when they say "Militant atheist" is anybody who won't sit quietly at the back of the bus.

I think I'm being perfectly reasonable with them by not feeding them to hungry lions, but trust me that if I had several hungry lions handy a few of the godbrothers and sisters would be digested.
All hail my new signature!

Admit it. You're secretly green with envy.

I would have no issue allowing the theists to believe whatever they wanted as long as they follow the same rules they want us to follow. Shut up about it, don't try to pass laws in favor of it, leave others the fuck alone about it, and last but not least DONT PERSECUTE THOSE THAT WANT EQUAL FUCKING RIGHTS.
Science doesn't give a damn about religions, because "damns" are not measurable units and therefore have no place in research. As soon as it's possible to detect damns, we'll quantize perdition and number all the levels of hell. Until then, science doesn't care.
