ParaGoomba Slayer

And I don't speak German. What would be the easiest way of reading this book? No one I know speaks German. To my knowledge, the book has been out of print since the 20's and I'm not aware of an English version. The book's title is Proletarischer Kindergarten by Ernst Friedrich. I assumed that it would be in 4 different languages like War against War! by Ernst Friedrich was, and I was wrong because I'm a retard.

I could always see if I could get my middle school foreign language teacher to read it to me, it's not that long. It's 232 pages, how much would that cost to have it translated? Probably a lot. I could just type it into a translator program, but that would probably come out wonky and inaccurate and it would be time consuming. :/

Help me?

stop right there.  Yes it would be, but I think you would find a great deal of satisfaction if you did it yourself. Yes some of it may be wooey, but think of it as "old school". Many great minds in the past translated using plain dictionaries. Yes it will be slow. I think the "old school" approach would be a great fun. And as you said, luckily its only 200 some pages, its not like War and Peace, eh?

The English language is mostly based on German, so that will help. I think the big problem will be mostly word definitions. Verb tenses and such shouldn't be a problem.

The book being as old as it is would be subject to words and characters that are likely not even used today...

It is true that English is largely Germanic, but the differences in the languages only make me wish you luck!

What about learning German? It isn't such a difficult language, especially for a native English speaker.

Genau das, was ich Ihm empfohlen habe!

Start by reading easier texts and learning more basic phrases before reading old literature with now uncommon turns of phrase in a language you don't speak a word of.
