Went to best buy and spent $460 on new monitors.

IPS HP BW 25"

So much better than my old ones!

Nice. Been looking at getting one of these, but was wondering about the base and how stable they are. A lot of nice monitors have bad reviews when it comes to wobbling as a result of cheap stands.

I thought this was about the security people where I live they refer to as monitors.. :|
All hail my new signature!

Admit it. You're secretly green with envy.

I thought it was about recording studio gear. In recording studios, the speakers that sit on top of the mixing station are called reference monitors or near field monitors or just monitors.

In my own recording space, I've got monitors that sit on top of my monitors because bad ass like that.

Ha!  When I saw 'monitors', I thought audio too.  Live though as in these.

Values. I've got a 21"  Samsung that is now on its 3rd computer. You paid more for your monitors than I did on my last 3 computers and 2 printers combined. Not a gamer, not judging.

In-ear technology was just starting to come on the scene when I got out of doing live work. At the time I was doing some front of house engineering for a friend's band. He was notoriously monitor deaf. So much so that I would often leave the front of house speakers down in smaller rooms if the crowd was thin during the first set. His floor wedges were so loud they could easily hit the back wall in smaller rooms.

Not surprisingly, feedback and/or getting his monitors loud enough was a constant problem. Since they worked a lot and made decent money, I suggested an in-ear solution to him. Seemed the perfect solution to me. I would be able to get him a mix of whatever he wanted loud enough to bulge his eyeballs out if he wanted it with no feedback issues ever. He rejected it out of hand saying that he wasn't a boy band and no true musician with integrity would ever use such a system. Yeah, he was a smart fella

So have you used these systems? Do they work as well as advertised?

Yo' dog, we heard you like monitors, so we put your monitors on your monitors so you can monitor your monitors while your monitors monitor your monitors!
