Were evolution and science made up by atheists to avoid having to cope?

More specifically, having to cope with the possibility of going to hell?

It's easy to avoid having to deal with the possibility of going to hell by simply pretending that the material world is all that exists, and the people's existence ends when their physical body dies (despite all the evidence indicating that this isn't true).

I think the reality is just more simple - some people probably know they're going to hell, and will do anything they can to avoid having to come to grips with that reality, even to the point of making up bogus theories like science, evolution, and such that attempt to explain away God.

(All the while being so ignorant that they don't even realize that science and evolution don't negate the possibility of God or the afterlife existing to begin with. Denial is surely a river in Egypt).

If we weren't swayed by the promises of your Sky Fairy, then we're unlikely to be cowed by the threats of your Cave Troll.

If there were a hell, you'd be in it, as a punishment to the rest of us. Now give your dad the computer back and stop your spammy bullshit.

Most people are going to Hell because they have no clue as to which god they should worship. Or because they donate to the pedo priests' coffers so they wouldn't have to work.
We 'new atheists' have a reputation for being militant, but make no mistake  we didn't start this war. If you want to place blame put it on the the religious zealots who have been poisoning the minds of the  young for a long long time."
