There are two of them... right? The guy is mentally fucked so let's just shoot him. It's not like we have non-lethal tools to take him down. One cop keep on gun on him the other a taser. Taser fails then put some bullets in him.

But no... shoot first ask questions later. That's just how the police roll. I wonder why civilized countries don't give all their cops guns?

wanna kill a mental person? call the cops. Buy insurance first, then call the cops. They love to kill the mental case.

I completely understand how hard it can be to work/deal with someone mentally ill... and to be fair to the cops I do not believe they are being adequately trained to deal with those sorts of situations. But as it stands what you said is completely right; if you have a mental illness, do NOT let a cop see you.

I was going to post a different video as well and decided not to but it's in Alaska 3 cops grab an autistic kid who is "trying to break into a car" (but not really), throw him on the ground and then pepper spray him. His "resisting" was just continually saying "I want to go home". And then they get pissy with his mother who is quite understandably upset.

While I think there are certainly way too many bad cops, I think the biggest issue is there are just way too many untrained cops. The "bad guys" are mostly the people higher up who cover up any mistake and not the street cops themselves.

Edit: And I'll even beat someone to it; this guy had it coming. But having it coming does not mean murder is therefor justified.

I will grant you this in all ways Shir. I have said for at least 20 years that as soon as I hear someone called the cops because their child/brother/mother/dad has some mental problems I already knew they were dead. And this is not specifically relegated to cops…most people are frightened of the mentally ill. I think we fear them more than drugged up/ drunked up, even though at that time and place..all three are pretty much the same. And the best way to deal with that seems to be a bullet or 20.

If you want to live in a civilized country ... the USA is not it.  I am stuck here until I retire, and then probably after that.  But if I could get my ashes dumped someplace outside the US (ocean sounds nice) ... then they won't be defiled further by this country.  But that is idealism speaking ... so it is just bullshit like all other idealism.  Patriotism is for fools as long as other citizens are involved ;-((

QuoteThe national average for state spending on mental health services is $109 per capita. Texas shamelessly spends $36.

Yay conservative christians!!

QuoteAccording to the Legislative Budget Board, community mental health services cost about $12 per day per patient, as opposed to the $137 per day to keep someone in prison.

Oh well, fucking shoot them then. Bullets are cheap.
