They don't hate gays.  They just think they shouldn't be able to marry.  Or adopt kids.  Or have sex.  Or have pride parades.  Or be openly gay, especially on TV.  Or, in some cases, exist.

See?  Tolerance!

They don't even want to consider that they are wrong.

Evolution is probably the slowest biological process on planet earth, the only one that comes close is the understanding of it by creationists.

The parody people even in their racist, sexist personas came across as nicer people than the people they're parodying.  Being so vile that someone pretending to be vile has nothing on you - now that takes skill.
Totally agree!  Amazing! And I really don't have a problem with them speaking their mind - makes it easier to avoid them.
Q for theists; how can there be freewill and miracles? And, how can prayer exist in an environment as regimented as "gods plan"?

I have to wonder if their reasoning, self examination, and general mental processing are always this bad, or are they now so emotionally distraught that they have short circuited and starting to sound crazy?

I've always laughed at their attitude of "We are being persecuted, because we can no longer persecute others," but they never had to put this into words before, because the status quo of years gone by never demanded that they actually look at themselves.  My assumption is that over the last year or two, with support for gay marriage winning out, they would be forced into a bit of self examination, as they are forced to actually put their vicious hatred into actual words.  I would have thought that at this stage they would have realized at how dumb they look in their claims of persecution, and that it should be obvious as heck to them how judgmental and narrow minded they really are.

But they still don't see it.  Well, I guess that's religious indoctrination for you, and I should understand that myself, knowing how hard it is to break the bonds in my own experience.

Germans were like that.  They couldn't believe they could lose WW I and yet they did.  This produced bad brain short circuits that produced the Nazi party.  While I have nothing against this SCOTUS decision myself, it would be tragic but typical, if the resulting cognitive dissonance, doesn't produce extreme political reaction (both here and from the Vatican).  Eventually having to confront your own lack of morality, leads to morality being valorized ... that doing evil seems not only allowable, or good, but mandatory.  And then you get a bad infection of Nazis.  People forget, the Nazis came to America, to study race relations and eugenics, and copied us.

Something I hadn't really thought about much, but maybe they were just actors hired to put out yet one more advertisement by a Christian group which is the real looney behind the actors acting looney.

When I watch that, I don't laugh as much as I am more disturbed by how strange the message is.

Baruch

Nuremberg party rallies were disturbing to watch too.

"No one should be looked down upon, no one should be oppressed." Oh, the deliciously tasty irony.

It is only human to be self righteous ... but it is best to do this behind closed doors where no one can see you ;-)  It might make you morally blind.

Herr Himmler ... I think is the one with the glasses.  He was a psycho school teacher who enjoyed attending mass executions in person.

I will despise some people's inhuman ideas and inhuman acts ... I am still working on not disapproving of them personally.
