Today I ran into a handful of people I'd known in the shelters last year and almost every one of them are still being shuffled from shelter to shelter. One had his own spot for a bit, but couldn't keep it together. They're unable to keep jobs in shelters and the few people who do keep their jobs don't have employers willing to cooperate with any social services to help them stabilize anywhere. It's partly employers, partly social services and partly the people themselves,  but sadly the vast majority of everyone involved in helping them gives help mere lip service. Company gets the nice tax break, social worker milks the clock and everyone's happy and the guy needing help getting on his feet gets shuffled to another shelter to be recycled. Few make it out.
