Hey guys. I figured I would share this with you.

I've tried many different media servers to stream to my ps3 and tv from my computer. Out of all the ones I've used so far, Plex, PS3 media server, Serviio, Subsonic.... this one seems to be the best IMO.

It's easy to use and it has the best compatibility. It even streams ISOs for your ripped dvd images.

Cool! Thanks for sharing!
I ended up biting the bullet and bought a dedicated home NAS (network attached storage).
To be more precise, I have a Zyxel NSA-320 and I absolutely love it.
It has solved a couple of big wife requirements, and I have therefore and subsequently scored big points with said wife: the need to have one centrally accessible photo storage point, and to be able to see the same photos on any device in our home. I back-up my photos in 3 separate places in the home. The only way I would lose it all would be a total fire. I guess I have yet to pay that small risk any serious attention.
