Well... I know there are a few from looking at other threads.  So... what instruments do you play, what sort of genres do you like to play, do you write your own stuff, who are your influences and what gear have you got?  8-)

Bass guitar is my main instrument, but I also play a bit of guitar.  My bass style sort of started out like Steve Harris, but has moved onto being a bit more like Geddy Lee - I just wish I had that guy's talent!

I listen to a lot of rock and prog/fusion - Rush, Dream Theater, Symphony X, Shadow Gallery, Jeff Beck, Greg Howe through to some more laid back stuff like Jaco Pastorius, Nitin Sawhney, BB King, Jonas Hellborg, Zero 7.

I have written a fair bit of my own stuff - quite varied, but rock-based with some more melodic elements thrown in.

Bass gear - Musicman Stingray, Ibanez 6 string, Peavey Max 700 watt head, Trace Elliot 1x15 cab, got a Barefaced 2x12 cab coming soon, which is supposedly a fucking beast!  Boss ME50B effects unit, Boss Chorus, Boss Overdrive, Behringer Flanger, Digitech Compressor.  I got the ME50B to replace the separate pedals, but the separates are better so I can't bring myself to sell them.

Guitar gear - PRS SE Tremonti, Yamaha 12-string acoustic, Marshall 30W practice amp, Roland Cube 30.

Oh yeah, I got a Microkorg keyboard somewhere too....

....and this is how I cook a curry... believe me, that is my good side!

Hello fellow musician.

I play guitar, bass, drums.  I plan on taking up keyboard next, but haven't really been able to yet.  Guitar has been my main instrument for the last 16 years.

As for gear, I have a spider II head and have sold my only cabinet!  I now use a line 6 gear port for all of my guitar/bass needs.  I really prefer it as I can get digital post modulated sound through my computer!  Recording becomes a cinch!

My initial desire to play came from a Van Halen concert I went to as a kid.  Eddie's performance was stunning and really shined!

Solitary

When I was 15 I was a union musician playing in dance bands, Big Bands, and jazz bands playing a trumpet. My claim to fame is playing a solo at the Sherman Hotel. I haven't touched the trumpet since 1960. I get bored once I reach a certain point in everything I do. Solitary

I play woodwinds and sing.  Here's a link to the German band I play in:

"Die Alte Kameraden" in Fairfax, VA.  I'm second from the left in the front row in the photo.

I sing with the Germantown, MD, barbershop chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, the Harmony Express:

I do some arranging, play around with (not "play") the piano, and can make recognizable songs come out of any of four ukuleles.  Plus harmonica, recorders, various folk flutes, etc.

Nice bass there, sir!

Here's a couple of mine.  The first one is about being pissed off, the second one about someone leaving the church:

I recently got a guitar and I'm learning how to play. I'm also considering buying an Ocarina.

I play guitar a bit. My real instrument of choice is harmonica though. I have 13 of them that consist of all 12 keys in diatonic and 1 chromatic.

I have been told I'm a pretty good singer also.

I also have played violin, saxaphone, and piano in the past as well, but haven't in a LONG time.

Shiranu

I would like to take up the bass guitar and to re-pick up the viola (played it for 5 or so years). This time though I want to learn to play Middle Eastern/African music on the viola instead of European classical though.

Have messed around with several other instruments, but nothing serious. Viola was my best.
