Did we lose the last gaming thread? I can't seem to find it.

Anyway, I just finished The Last of Us and all I can say is wow. A game hasn't made me ask moral questions like that in a very long time (if ever). I'd definitely recommend it if you have the time/money.

I'll add it to my list, when it comes to PC and I have my new one. :P

I play some PC games, mostly MMO's,but other stuff, too.  Are there any other GIRL gamers out there?  SVZurich is, I know.  Anyone else?

Yeah, it's gone.  This is officially the new thread about gaming.  But first, the proper rites must be observed.

*places green turtle shells in a ring*
*adds a ring of golden rings*
*adds a ring of hearts*
*adds a ring of pokeballs*
*adds a ring of ornate medieval weapons and armor*
*adds a ring of alien artefacts and power armor*
*adds a ring of sentry turrets*
*adds a ring tesla coils, humming with power*
*places a throne of melted down PCs and consoles in the exact center*

You too will come to understand fear, as I have.

You've never grinded before you've played RuneScape and gotten a Completionist Cape. It takes a minimum of 1 year to get (took me 5½ years), but that's if you play like 18 hours a day, every day, and never AFK or goof around.

Dammit I started the last thread :(

Ive been playing Path of Exile so much my hand has actually begun to hurt quite badly and im taking a couple days off from clicky games.

MMO's have largely lost their appeal to me. I want to like neverwinter, but its pretty goddamn bland actually. The voice acting is embarrassing, the gameplay is generic, and its a F2P model which means at some point I will be pressured to spend money and I DO NOT LIKE THAT. It seems every single MMO being released today is under the F2P model, and frankly that has totally ruined the genre for me. Theres something about adopting a F2P model that stifles the storytelling and lore aspects and inevitably makes the game far more grindy.

POE did it right, making damn sure that almost every single thing in the store was cosmetic. The only non-cosmetic purchase you can make is getting more stash tabs, which frankly you do not absolutely need. Its a convenience buy and nothing more.

Anyway ive been waiting for the next big game to come out. By big I mean big to me. Like the next skyrim or something. A game with obvious quality, that clearly shows that the developers had a love for what they were doing and weren't just out to foist some preorder piece of shit with day one DLC on the market, make 100 million dollars and then discontinue support after 4 months.

Planetary Annihilation. Still have to wait until September to be able to play in the Beta. But worth the wait I think.

What about that Elder Scroll MMO?

I play the Mass Effect Trilogy every day. My son built me a water-cooled gaming computer with a 22 inch monitor. I never get tire of making new characters, and the game is always different and challenging. On insane level it is impossible for me to beat. After an operation I was very slow mentally and my son thought the game would help. It did! I couldn't even do the very easy puzzles in the game at first without help, but now they are easy. This game works on so many levels, and the graphics on Mass Effect 3 and the add-ons are superb. Solitary

I'm waiting on the new mmorpg by Artix Entertainment. I haven't gotten a chance to help alpha test though. I'm a big fan of their last mmorpg AQW. It's the only mmo I've ever played in which the devs have so close to their players. I actually met the two main founders in game once. Artix and Cysero.

I've gotten pretty burned out on MMo's lately too.  On the one hand, everything is too freaking easy.  They tell you where every quest giver is with giant!!, and there is an arrow or glowing line leading you to completion.  SOOOO not what I started out with.  On the other hand, I don't have time to spend 5 days figuring out a single quest like I used to.  Well, maybe I do, maybe we all do.  I mean, I played EQ for almost 3 years and never reached max level.  I played other games for years too (DaoC for example), and didn't get bored.  Lately, I play an MMO for 1 or 2 months, and I fell like I have completed over 75% of the content.  NOT fun.

The only MMO I really enjoyed recently was Secret World.  It had bugs to start out, but damn, if you want a challenge, that game is the best MMO in years.  Almost, every quest is hard.  The voice acting ac cut scenes are spectacular, the story line is engaging and actually makes sense. I did spend hours on single quests, specifically the puzzle styles.  I didn't leave the first area for over a month!  There is so much to do in each area, and a Horror Genre was so novel, compared to the Fantasy and Sci-Fi dominated MMO Market, it was a total blast.  I highly recommend trying it, if you haven't.  The dungeons (instances)were also the best I've played in years and years. A few were actually startling and scary!  And hard...damn freaking harder than any other recent MMO.  First MMO in ages that kept me playing for a long time.  I quit after 7 months only because it actually got too hard.  I found the Nightmare instances, as a healer, to be too much of a nightmare.  Weeks spent trying to learn one boss.  I hear they have been tuned down a bit, so I might go back and try it out again.

The only real downer in Secret World is the PvP, which is more like PvE with some PvP tossed in, and not that well done.  Much like Warhammer, follow Zerg around from PvE point to point.
Everything else about the game is totally awesome!

I'm going to check that out when it's done with beta.

We should put our servers and character names down and play together some... my last guild on an MMO had a uber-xtain in it... he got upset a cussing and always talked to us about praying for shit. The problem was that he was the brother of the GM. The GM was a great guy. He was probably xtain too but never talked about it...

I'm currently playing Mechwarrior Online.
