Quote from: Shiranu on January 26, 2023, 01:41:24 PMIn it's own way, this is the coolest music video on the internet to me. The outfits, the instrument, the stage... it's just so cheesy, little kid cool and I love every moment of it.

This song gets a lot of flak for being repetitive, but I dunno, I think there's something of a progression to it.  The lighting and back-and-forth movements of the dancers and the just plain weird costumes make it mesmerizing.

Some music is intentionally meant to be repetitive - it's meant to be experienced physically in dance halls and dark clubs, not car rides and brightly lit-stores.

I totally get how that's not everyone's cup of tea, but a good groove is a good grove to me.

When I am not feeling well my music belongs in a coal bin.

Shiranu

Well, I thought it was still an entertaining track!

Just had this pop up in my recommended, YouTube's algorithm... actually working for once. I had kinda forgotten about psytrance/Goa Trance, I might need to try this style again.

Hey, remember this?

Turns out the guy who invented it had a band back in the day and they recorded an album.

The rest of the album appears to be on Youtube. Here's the video I learned about all this as well as the inventor teaching the guy how to tune his Thing.

The 70's-80's was so childishly cool.*

*in regards to some of the technology, fashion and trends anyways.

Yes and the 60s were actually cool.

Loved music in the 60's.  It was interesting how my music world transitioned from country and western (my dad had charge of the radio in those days) to rock and roll.  And, of course, rock and roll was of the devil.

My parents would always have martinis to Sinatra or Herb Alpert or Dylan blasting from this giant wooden console record player and then when we went to Grandma's for Sunday dinner it was "The Lawrance Welk Show".

Pretty sure Cristina Scabbia was my first crush, now that I think about it. Still an amazing vocalist.

I cant believe I didn't share this; Linkin Park just recently dropped a new track, and it's actual a produced version of a studio demo back in 2003... so new Chester Bennington.

A 20 year old track, and it still sounds futuristic.
