QuoteThe discovery pushes the timeline of obsidian tool use back by an astonishing 500,000 years.

Scientists have discovered a trove of nearly 600 obsidian hand-axes that were crafted more than 1.2 million years ago in Ethiopia by an unknown group of hominins, the family consisting of modern humans and our many extinct relatives, reports a new study.

The discovery pushes the timeline of obsidian tool use back by an astonishing 500,000 years, and reveals that the hominins who lived in this part of Ethiopia, known as Melka Kunture, must have been considerably skilled crafters in order to work with this capricious material. ...

You do realize that that discovery proves the existence of ancient astronauts---oh yeah!--Proof??  Just watch all of those ancient astronaut 'documentaries' shown on The History Channel.

Yeah but yeah but God provided the raw materials for them. He knew when he magiced everything into existence that eventually we would need trees and rocks and stuff.

Stratford upon Avon wouldn't look half as nice without a God.

Did this ax shop go out of business because cheap axes from China were imported and flooded the market?

Yeah, I do too.  But you cannot tell those ancient astronaut nuts that!

Those people may have been living in an ancient time, but they certainly weren't stupid. I see people alive today that wouldn't be able to figure out chipping obsidian to make an edged implement.

Most Americans would die of thirst because they are too stupid to drink water out of a river. They could not make a simple clay pot.
A humans desire to live is exceeded only by their willingness to die for another. Even god cannot equal this magnificent sacrifice. No god has the right to judge them.-first tenant of the Panotheust

Store-bought milk? Or would Mama's milk do the trick? Save money that way, but Mama would have to be pregnant a lot... 🤔

When I was being held prisoner in that "care facility" in which I was ensconced, I watched a lot of those "History Channel" shows about aliens, and now I'm even less likely to believe in them than I already was, which was not at all.

I can't make a pot from clay, and I pretty much doubt I'd be able to make an obsidian axe. (Maybe, that's why playing Dawn of Man is so peaceful. :p ) But so the most of the world I guess. That's not the point. I hate that they don't respect/wonder or even want to know about how things have come to this point. When I was first curious about that I was a child. I probably saw something in a book at home or my parents told me something after a question... But it always felt like it was nuts because it's fucking nuts. And the dates keep going back and back since I've known myself. I was sitting in front a computer then. Here, again I'm sitting in front of a computer reading about this. And it's fucking nuts.
