Yeah, they would gladly bring on the apocalypse to prove they were right after all.

Yeah. Who wants to see stars? More ads, please!

Born under one law, to another bound;
Vainly begot, and yet forbidden vanity,
Created sick, commanded to be sound."

Actually, food is the most addictive drug on this planet. An addiction to food/eating is the hardest addiction there is to control. We have to eat or we die. And food is just another form of drugs that keeps our body going; one does not need 'drugs' to (not referring to medical uses of drugs) live, but we have to eat.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent,
Is he able but not willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able or willing?
Then why call him god?

I tried to quit my eating addiction, but withdrawal was close to fatal, so I started again. :P

Never eat and your addiction will go away in a week or so.

I really like that definition of religion. Now, if anyone asks me why I don't follow any religion, I think that I will start answering:

"Personally, I do not have a problem accepting reality, therefore I have no use for a philosophical abstract that allows me to arbitrarily redefine it."

^ I'm in the, "I'm not interested in hearing about your imaginary playmate" camp these days. I don't like having salespeople at the door, so I'm thinking of making a sign for the front gate:

No Soliciting, No Sales
If we wanted it, we would already have it
We don't care about your personal version of Jesus

On second thought,

NO TRESPASSING

is more to the point and it will take less time to make a sign for that. :D

I also want to put a basket at the gate for flyers, because people go up the front door and shove flyers into the door handle. My wife doesn't like that idea, but if I put one up while she's out of town, it'll be welded on. Fait accompli! lol

LOL Back in the stone age when our home phone was a landline without caller ID or voicemail, we had an answering machine, and used it to screen calls. At one point, I got so tired of bullshit calls, that I recorded a rather abrupt greeting message that included advice for anyone seeking a donation selling something or proselytizing to just piss off. I thought it was funny and pretty effective, but after a day or two my wife strongly advised me to replace it with something less offensive, like restoring the "leave a message after the beep" greeting. She was right, of course. It was better to just quietly ignore the caller, and get on with life.
