. What did we ever do to get where we are, except by vicious behavior? And, yes, a lot of dumb luck. Now, we may have used up all of our dumb luck, though. It remains to be seen. Maybe homo sap will survive at/near the poles as hunter-gatherers again, until the place cools off. I know that I won't be here to see it, whatever it is.

All things considered, that sounds a lot better than the world now - if for no other reason than the astronomical magnitudes of suffering it would end.

Just rather the universe didn't have to go Thanos on us to make us get to that point, and we just did it peacefully instead.
