I'm saying that recent films not only have more cuts, they film shot/reverse-shot dialogue with insanely short intervals between cuts.

Are these mutants green, by chance? Perhaps with a half shell, and wielding ninja weapons?

Funny thing is there's a popular theory about the first generation of Pokemon games that says Gary's (or your rival's) Raticate dies after battling you. It's in his party until you encounter him in Lavender Town, when you find him in the Pokemon graveyard. Gary asks you what you're doing there, but he doesn't explain what he's doing there.

Of course, that's bologna. A more likely explanation is that he just traded out Raticate for another Pokemon. He's not going to lose to you over and over without experimenting with new monsters.

Earth is still important, kinda.  It presumably generates an abnormally high concentration of supes, so it's important for recruitment.  And it has cultural significance.  End of list.

In the R&M universe(s), Earth is a primitive backwater which can kinda sorta imitate some of Rick's powers but only if they sink an ungodly amount of resources into it (the US Pres and his knockoff portals, shrinking tech, etc).

In terms of technological ability and just about every other metric, Earth lags far behind.  Aliens even have better romantic relationships (alien couple's therapy, love finderrz, etc)  The only thing we have going for us is the best ice cream in the multiverse, and even that is taken away after the inclusion of flies in the recipe.

Gun safety tip: put the barrel right up next to your testicle.  Better than accidentally shooting yourself in the leg...maybe.

This is one of those "funny 'cause it's true" videos. Another tactic pharmaceutical companies use is "patient assistance programs." For example, I take Biktarvy for HIV and it cost $3,783 for a 30 day supply. I have prescription drug coverage through my employer and because this is considered a "specialty medication" (meaning expensive) my copay is $100 and every month the pharmacist contacts me to make sure I am taking it. Because the manufacturer, Gilead, has a patient assistance program, I pay zero because they pay my $100 copay. This sounds very generous but in reality they are spending $100 so I don't switch to a less expensive or competitor's medication and they lose $3,683 a month (technically less because these prices are negotiated). People like myself who need to take an expensive medication daily for the rest of their lives and have insurance are cash cows.
