The fact that they are both simultaneously right and wrong makes me happy. It's poetic.

Talking about inspiring pride... Does he know Tarantino's interpretation of Top Gun? Or was it the joke all along? Lol

Military retirement pay is much like that.
We 'new atheists' have a reputation for being militant, but make no mistake  we didn't start this war. If you want to place blame put it on the the religious zealots who have been poisoning the minds of the  young for a long long time."

When bitcoin was becoming a "thing", I asked my financial advisor about it. He said that since it isn't regulated, that his company may not legally invest in it. I was just curious, but I sure am glad I never put any money into it.

Most of the time, when you hear "X is hot, invest now!", the opportune time to invest has long since past.

When that Gamestop stock nonsense was going on, I started selling off most of my stock investments. Only about 12% of my portfolio is in the market now, yet these paper losses still don't feel good. I imagine most people don't check their 401Ks regularly these days to avoid depression..but if you are young and still accumulating for retirement, you may be getting more for your dollar now.

If you are retired like me, at least you can get decent bond/cd yields if inflation doesn't keep going on and on and chip away cash value. IDK, we may already be in recession; I hear Tesla and others are having layoffs. Gonna keep some cash ready because the market will rebound really fast when the numbers look better.

Not sure how anything is going to go in the world. My investment people did a 1000-case Monte Carlo analysis and told me that I could retire, in '14. I did so, and applied immediately for Social Security. Two reasons for that- the gov keeps sneaking around about getting rid of it (the chump talked about getting rid of "entitlements" on Face the Nation, if he was reelected), and I don't know when I'm going to die, so I'm scraping it out as quickly as I can for my family. I worked a ton of years for that money. Seven years, and counting, with retirement. NB- the chump (and Moscow Mitch) call it "entitlements", which to the base means "welfare queens" and bums on the streets, as opposed to the actual meaning of Social Security and Medicare. The uneducated are lead by the nose with these sort of buzz-words. This country has a real problem with properly educating its citizens, in a lot of states.

Oh yeah, that whole regeneration/telekinesis/gravity/electricity thing is just basic biology.  Anyone can see that.  Just yesterday, my cat used his gravity control powers to hover in midair all day.  So annoying!

2 possibilities:
(a) people are somehow stupider and yet more self-assured than ever.
(b) social media provides us exposure to how many people have always been stupid yet self-assured
