Mammalisaurus?
Fantasy pangolin.  Note the digging front claws, thickly scaled tail, and the heavily scaled dorsal area (less scaled on the ventral side)

Last one I saw was in a zoo in North Carolina.

I know brutalism has a bit of a reputation, but damn these are majestic!

I'm 90% sure the last one is the mission objective in an RTS game.

Neo-Andean architecture in Bolivia (relatively recently built, 2005-current)

I can't decide if this style is vibrant and colorful or garish and tacky.

A lot of these buildings are built for the poor, so I assume the former applies if they are rich people houses and the latter applies if they are poor people houses.

Most efficient hypothetical US/Canada rail network linking all important cities

Q: My city isn't on the list.
A:  Then it's not really important, now is it?

Q:  What about the Canadian cities of Calgary, Ottawa, and Edmonton?
A:  Those are fictional.

Q: FFS, man. Ottawa isn't even very far from Montreal and it's much more populated than Vancouver, eh?
A:  Ottawa is not a real city, but a pit straight to the depths of hell where all Canada geese spawn from like LOTR orcs.

Q: Why do you hate South Dakota?
A:  They know what they did.

They look like hard candies.

That map looks like they have avoided certain regions.

Yep.  And there's a reason for that.  The USA is only densely populated in major cities on the eastern half, the western half is pretty thinly populated until you get close to the west coast.

The areas where Amtrak doesn't go is because of lack of population to support the system. Other rails exist, but they carry cargo.

These maps remind me of one of my all-time fav Avalon Hill game--Rail Baron.  It is a railroad building game using most of the railroads of history.  The big problem for me was finding enough people to play it.  It was best with 4/5 people and lasted around 6/7 hours to play.
