Political Signs

I've noticed a change in the way political candidates identify themselves on their signs. I don't know if I'm the only one who has noticed this or if I'm noticing something that's always been this way. It may be that in recent years I have lived in a different social environment. At one time, candidates announced their political affiliation. "Joe Blow, Republican for Congress". Republican signs were almost always red and Democrats used blue. Now where I live, Republicans have gone to using blue colors, and signs seldom give party affiliation for either party. Has anyone else noticed this?

I find myself confronted with signs of guys I've never heard of, and I have no idea what party they are with.

I haven't seen this. But then, I wasn't paying attention, either. I'll have to look around. One thing I've noticed since the days of Bush (the younger), are flags. With rare exception, the US flag was displayed by Bushies or Trumpies. When I was growing up, it was displayed by most on those parotitic days, like the 4th, or some such day.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent,
Is he able but not willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able or willing?
Then why call him god?

I think the tendency for Republicans to wrap themselves in the flag goes way back. It's odd that Trump uses this while he wants to get rid of democracy, one of the few things Americans use to define themselves.

Nope, but originally the Republicans were blue, until the Dems stole that too ;-) Dems were always red. But no, for all local elections, our signs this past election had party affiliation on them. Candidate signs with just color, would be discriminatory toward the color blind and morally blind ;-)

Lincoln wrapped himself in a flag, at his funeral ;-)

I want to get rid of Democrats ;-) ... democracy was panned by the Founders, and every sane person since Athens committed political suicide.

Dems define themselves by treason (1776, 1860, today) and slavery.

I noticed the lack of affiliation back as far as the Obama campaign in '08. (First time I put a yard sign up. (First time a neighbor attacked me for putting a yard sign up. (First a neighbor was arrested for attacking a federal employee at work.)))
We 'new atheists' have a reputation for being militant, but make no mistake we didn't start this war. If you want to place blame put it on the the religious zealots who have been poisoning the minds of the young for a long long time."
