As usual, Christians are showing Christ's love by discriminating against everyone who's different from them.

Born under one law, to another bound;
Vainly begot, and yet forbidden vanity,
Created sick, commanded to be sound."

Should say, any Christians buying one get tied to it and burned for heresy ;-)

Jesus of Nazareth of Bethlehem, LOL. Hard to keep a web of lies straight.

This is the first Christmas in my life that we haven't put up a tree or any indoor decorations. I'm working Christmas eve and Christmas night. We can't have anyone over for dinner or socializing. We aren't giving anyone gifts either. We are hoping next Christmas will be better.

The two of us have decided we will decorate--and probably overdo it--for ourselves, since nobody else is going to see it, at least not in person.  Well, maybe my brother-in-law--but that's it.  My wife really likes the way the house looks when decorated (I'm fairly neutral about it), which means this year we may have a decorated house well into Jan.

I enjoy decorating, baking and crafting my ass off at Christmas.  My dad and ex died around Christmas and that has been difficult.  The holidays bring back so many memories- good and bad.  I was feeling sorry for myself a few weeks ago and I got myself out of it by shopping for Toys for Tots and dropping off groceries at a local food bank.  In Catholic school advent was a big deal and I totally bought into it.  Now I got an advent of dog treats for my terrier.
Captain Renault : What in heaven's name brought you to Casablanca?

Rick : My health. I came to Casablanca for the waters.

Captain Renault : The waters? What waters? We're in the desert.

Rick : I was misinformed.

To be fair, Oscar is homeless and penniless on the most commercial, wealth-displaying day of the year.  That'd make anyone a grouch!

He doesn't like Thanksgiving or Labor Day, because both make him feel inadequate - not being able to provide an extravagant feast and not being a part of the workforce.

Not everyone gets to be part of the Victorian bourgeois, eh Tiny Tim?

None of that makes me feel inadequate, it makes me realize how inadequate most other people are...
