A humans desire to live is exceeded only by their willingness to die for another. Even god cannot equal this magnificent sacrifice. No god has the right to judge them.-first tenant of the Panotheust

I doubt anyone would want to willingly control many of the involuntary functions of the body - remembering to keep your heart beating, consciously moving your eyes back and forth in tiny seemingly imperceptible ways, moving things along in your bowels, and flexing every tiny muscle fiber in your skin to form goosebumps would at best become tedious and at worst kill you.

Reincarnation is just another way in which a person can avoid having to come to terms with their own mortality. Since it is painfully obvious that the body dies, man had to create the concept of the soul as being the immortal essence of a person which can live on. It simply isn't true. As unique as a person may be, when they die, there is nothing left of the mind that was created by the physical processes of a brain fed by the fuel reactor that is the body.

It might be wise to not take the life you have now for granted thinking you can bank on another. Given the finality of death and the scientific verification that the mind cannot exist without a physical brain to manifest it, it is reasonable to assume this may in fact be the only life you'll ever have. Be a shame to waste it on flights of fancy built upon... well, nothing but wishful thinking.

Death is indeed a fucked up thing.  Isn't it?  But knowing this, and not falling back on a life after death, makes living this one and only life you'll ever get all the more sweet.

The Peristaltic theory of faith and free will.......

That's deRp.

FIFY
Science doesn't give a damn about religions, because "damns" are not measurable units and therefore have no place in research. As soon as it's possible to detect damns, we'll quantize perdition and number all the levels of hell. Until then, science doesn't care.

WHAT I MEANT WAS:

You can control your  "Peristalsis" ---IT CONTROLS YOU.

Ya see FREE-WILL stops when one's  "Peristalsis" comes-a-calling Jethro!

The Peristaltic theory of faith and free will.......

That's deep.

This is why I don't want to be a mod. i would've shitcanned this guy after the 2nd post.

Gerard

This guy is basically of the type that pleads against the concept of knowledge itself, to get across that he knows something to be true.

Which is a confusing argument to make.....

I know strom, but some of you like the occasional distraction even if you don't. We can't please everyone so love the one you're with……or something like that.

A Ha! Somebody finally mentioned the avatar. I got rid of it because of one of the following reasons:

1. It was incredibly sexist and I felt it might be off-putting to females that came on the forum

2. Other people on the forum were too caught up in it and it distracted from discussions

3. The wife saw it and "objected to the sexuality of it"

You decide........

Only in the human form of life is Karma created. In Other forms karma is burnt off.
Oh yeah? So why am I missing the rest of my legs?
