The Harp Seal my wife stepped on thinking it was a stone---her screams woke up the whole neighborhood---when it snapped at her and growled.

My wife stepped on the Harp Seal in the top picture and it looked at her like that and made a sound from hell. I think they could hear her scream on the entire island.  I couldn't stop laughing, probably because she ran like a rabbit, and didn't get hurt. Harp Seals are very dangerous if disturbed. There are signs all over warning not to get near them.  This was right behind the house we were staying in, and never expected one to be there, because there never was any there for almost two weeks. Glad it made your day! Solitary
