Science General Discussion / Re: Why science is evil
Last post by Gawdzilla Sama - February 22, 2026, 03:55:58 PM
Sorry, but science isn't evil, it just is. There are noble uses for it. And evil uses for it. But in my mere 75 years I haven't witnesses "science" doing anything "evil". I've seen HUMANS doing evil things with science. One person stuck and electrode down my throat and applied electric shocks to my heart. Saved my life with that afibrilation treatment. I've also seen men using electric cattle prods for their entertainment, shocking day old lambs. They should have been watching their trucks. Just sayin'.

Science General Discussion / Why science is evil
Last post by FreethinkingSceptic - February 22, 2026, 03:51:13 PM
Science has given us:

Computer addiction
Dirty cities which create modern diseases
Gas chambers
Global warming
Nuclear weapons
Sweatshop factories

Ancient hunter-gather societies never had any of these problems until science came around. Therefore science is actually evil, and only ever solves problems that it creates to begin with - such as how it invents cures to modern diseases caused by living in dirty cities, which people who lived close to nature, such as the American Indians never had to worry about.

General Discussion / Idea: Banning science in publi...

I propose that we ban the teaching of science in public schools and universities, and replace it with teaching the parables of Jesus.

Jesus taught people how to be compassionate human beings, while science has only given us gas chambers and nuclear weapons.

If we never had science, we would have lived peaceful lives as hunter-gatherers like Adam and Eve did in Eden, so we should get rid of science and replace it with the religion which Jesus taught to his disciples.

Per the above, it's entirely possible that God created organisms with the appearance of having evolved, but in reality they were created in their present state.

You believe that they have evolved just because they have an appearance of having done so, without having actually seen them do so. And even if you've seen small, observable changes in some species, this doesn't mean that you've seen a single-celled organism evolve into a modern human. You're merely making the assumption that they did based on the appearance of common ancestry, when it's entirely possible that God created them that way.

So, I've been on a mechanical watch kick lately for reason. I'm sure I have them. But this video popped up in my feed and it's a corny piece of cinema is ever there was one. Though, not as good as that one about springs.

If I'm being totally honest with myself, the two world champs are probably Mexico and China.  And I can tell because they can put their food in front of anyone - anyone in the world - and they will absolutely devour it.

British cuisine is not nearly on that caliber.  It's not awful, but it's definitely not in the top 20, probably not even the top 50.

I would love to put some authentic cajun/creole dishes in front of British people and see what they think.

Political/Government General Discussion / Re: Will Putin Invade Ukraine?

Russian general promised wife a necklace of severed ears

Yeah...I definitely don't have a lot of sympathy for them when they get blown up while attempting to commit crimes against humanity.

Also, this example underscores that these war crimes aren't spur-of-the-moment things that the Russian soldiers came up with on their own - they come right from the top - from the generals and ultimately Putin.  All this stuff - from attacking schools and churches to using drones for "human safaris" to assassinations and poisonings to torture centers and murder of surrendered Ukrainian troops - all of it is endorsed and approved by the Kremlin, by Putin.

Putin is a sick bastard and his war conduct is a reflection of that.

It includes Chilliwack, Bronski Beat, Klymaxx and T'Pau.

I would 100% play a Cleric very similar to Vlithryn.  Water is a natural fit for Clerics because water is cleansing and holy and all that.  Fire is also a natural fit because it's holy and cleansing (except when it's hellfire).  Light is also a natural fit...
