The term 'god' or 'gods' can mean different things to different people. This pastor (Dowd) has his own view of what 'god' means. He claims that when he uses the term 'god', he actually means  "a personification of reality".  Which, of course,  is horse pucky.   His parishioners likely have a different view.

Because god is imaginary and the concept exists only in a persons mind, the god can actually be different things to different people.

For theists, there is no right or wrong way to perceive god.

For atheists, there is no way to perceive god.
