Wow! According to recent report published by the WWF the population of vertebrates declined by more than 50% between 1970 and 2010. In less than two human generations we have killed off half of our closest cousins.

The amphibian decline (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decline_in_amphibian_populations) is particularly shocking, considering that amphibian declines usually coincide with serious environmental problems.

Yea, according to the report the amphibian population is down nearly 80%.

Unfortunately true. the species we think of as disgusting like rays, jellyfish and eels are flourishing because of climate change, invasive species are becoming more invasive, and the rhino and elephant have been nearly hunted into extinction. human stupidity at the base of most, if not all of it.
