Title: Kevin Sorbo Herp de Derp
Post by: Munch on August 28, 2014, 08:19:10 AM
Ah Kevin Sorbo. In my teens I watched you play Hercules alongside Lucy Lawless as Xena. you were cheesy and your acting was terrible, but the show was a silly romp and I enjoyed it regardless. I studied greek myth because of watching the show, and while it was campy, I learned a lot about ancient cultures coming off from it.

Nowadays, after doing.... nothing, for the past 15 years, Sorbo returns in his latest role alongside Chuck Norris, aging christian douchebag.

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2014/08/27/kevin-sorbo-atheists-are-angry-because-they-secretly-know-god-exists-and-is-judging-them/

QuoteAtheists, he claimed, secretly believe that God exists, and are upset with him because they know he is going to judge them. They are a “small group of people, and they get on Fox or CNN and they rant and they rave,” Sorbo said, “and I pretty much based my character [in God Is Not Dead] off of these guys that I see who are just angry â€" they’re just filled with anger and hatred.”

https://soundcloud.com/rightwingwatch/kevin-sorbo-and-rick-wiles-agree-atheists-are-angry-because-they-know-god-exists

Apparently he based his character in Gods not Dead on his view of atheists as being irrational, ranting and raving people, and he laughs at us for it.

Yeah I really take offense to a has-been actor whos never done anything constructive outside of a campy tv show, who can't even get the role right when him and his co-star Michael Hurst, who played Iolaus, was meant to be Hercules' male lover, not just his 'buddy' according to greek myth.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LP5O9zgTuT8

oh and just for the record not to forget, it seems Sorbo is now buddy with Rick Wiles, the christian talk show host who claimed recently "Ebola Could Solve America's Problems With Atheism And Homosexuality'

http://www.rightwingwatch.org/content/rick-wiles-ebola-could-solve-americas-problems-atheism-and-homosexuality

Quote“Now this Ebola epidemic can become a global pandemic and that’s another name for plague. It may be the great attitude adjustment that I believe is coming,” he said. “Ebola could solve America’s problems with atheism, homosexuality, sexual promiscuity, pornography and abortion.”

Yeah so Sorbos okay coming on a show with a host who thinks a killer disease could be good in killing off groups of people.

Thanks for the video! And they say atheists are angry.  What a bunch of jerks, calling the atheists angry when they are as bigoted and hateful as one can be. And also idiots---why would Ebola only effect those they hate. Another example of hateful Christians speaking for an imaginary God.  :wall: :butt: Solitary

This just has me going wtf! Christians make many assumptions about atheists don't they? Why not try getting to know one before jumping to conclusions.

Why learn when you already know everything?

Once again we are given evidence that being an actor does not require either a high IQ or critical thinking skills.

you know its like the Rolf Harris effect, I use to watch Sorbo as Hercules like I use to watch Rolf when I was a kid. Rolfs now been found out as a pedophile, and Sorbos now being friends with a guy advocating for gay and atheist genocide.

Kinda put a big stain on childhood don't it?

I watched like one half of one episode of Hercules. The only reason I watched was Tawny Kitaen. He lost me when he started using karate moves in a fight. Authentic much?

I then paid money to see Kull The Conqueror. Because Tia Carrera, and I am a long time fan of Robert E. Howard books. Sorbo turned wide screen cinema into B grade TV. From small minds come small ideas.

I think Andromeda would have been a great series if Sorbo hadn't required the scripts to be dumbed-down. There's nothing wrong with not being very smart, but there is with resenting people who are.

Well apparently sorbo thinks outside thought to his views are intimidating. Ironic given he once played a role in a series about a greek myth, which itself was bulldozed over by christian and roman conquering it.

I really liked Michael Hurst (Iolaus) and Lucy Lawless (Xena).  At the time, I totally thought Sorbo's little backhand and Iolaus's kicks where totally awesome.  Course, I was about 10 at the time.

Can you believe Heidi Hudson Leick (Callisto) is a Yoga instructor now?

yeah, there was a reason why xena, in all its campy value, was more entertaining. Lawless just got into the role, where as sorbo was just.. bland as shit.

Sorbos one of these morons who sees an atheist insulting a good white little Christian boy, and starts to think how white Christian Americans are oppressed and singled out. Apparently history class was to hard for sorbo to remain focused in.
Btw, does anyone else keep thinking of sorbet?

He's just a pretty actor with a good looking body.  He's not paid for his genius in biology.

(Now if we were talking about Mayim Bialik, this would be a completely different conversation.)

I used to love him as Hercules too, such a shame he's actually an idiot.

Yeah he was good looking and I always use to hope there be a butt shoot of him on the show, but just like with arnold schwarzengger, the physical desire falls flat when you realize the person is a world class asshole.

I'm kind of surprised that Iolaus was actually Herc's male lover I never thought of that when I watched the show. :P

Probably because lesbian relationships were more acceptable for the audience back then than gay male relationship. I Think it's kind of ironic if the producer didn't know about the true nature of Herc and Iolaus relationship (looking at Kevin Sorbo obviously), though, I suspect that they actually knew and decided to not highlight it for the same reason I stated above. :D

Apparently Sorbo didn't quite get the gist of "Greek Culture."

Makes me wonder if you showed this to sorbo and as ask why he didn't give Michael Hurst fellatio, it would have been genuine to history.
