Post by: aitm on August 01, 2014, 01:39:40 PM
Somma bitch man. This pretty much puts a fucking to free will AND smacks intelligent design right in the mouth as well.

Lol. So some of us are wired to stick a gun in our mouth, or whatever. It was Jesus!

This is interesting because it changes some situations that I can think of.

If a person is supposedly driven to suicide, did they have the previous biological design to do so?

If a person is hounded on facebook or at school, if the person committing suicide can be shown to have this biological predisposition, does it not serve as a defense for the perpetrators?

How much of a predisposition to suicide does a gay man have who is rejected by his family?

I'm thinking this will open up a very interesting list of moral and legal implications.

I agree Strom, if this turns out to be truthful, or provable, what will stop THE most powerful industry in the world from demanding genetic testing before you can buy some types of insurance? Uninsurable? Marriage? Not so fast kid, lets check your genetics to see if you may end up killing the grandkids and yourself first. Military? Hell yes, there is a fox-hole eh?

No shit. the more you think about it, the more implications you discover. And take it to another level; indicators seen through testing other behavioral indicators that could pretty much determine how any person would approach any particular situation.

There has already been enough evidence to suggest that the human mind is a genetic frenzy of pre-determination by proxy (might be the wrong word). Being pre-disposed to certain foods or colors, diseases and now mental disposition. When the day comes the genetic manipulation can be done in utero ( if necessary) to fix a problem, will the "beauty" of human diversity be replaced by simply better humans, humans that act more like each other and most likely will eventually start to resemble each other as well? Perhaps this itself will render robotics obsolete as humanity becomes more the robot....eh?

Yes, it would have legal implications, but that doesn't change the fact that if a person breaks the law and harms someone they are still responsible for the deed. Apparently tigers don't have freewill, and when they kill they are still responsible, and killed to protect society. Solitary

I hope they find the gene or hormone or whatever causes perkiness, or what I call "Rachael Ray Syndrome." That needs to be ripped out of our physiology forever.

find me the gene that makes people want to watch shit like Jerry Springer or any of the so called "reality" tv shows. They need eliminating.  I can handle Ray perkiness.
