The city/county of Dallas itself is quite liberal. The Parkland hospital district is a county tax payer funded deal for indigent people with no health care. It's not completely free, but it's pretty darn close. It saved my ass when I lived there.

I am surprised that this is the first I have heard from this man, as he seems to be a thoroughly good and intelligent person. Quite an outlier compared to the rest of Texas' media and politicians.
