And how do they simultaneously maintain the image of being rich and constantly in need of money?! It reminds me of the George Carlin bit where he explains that God is omnipotentent, omniscient, etc but he's apparently crap with money and always needs more. I think Trump may indeed take residence in that atavistic part of the brain that also conceptualizes God.

Trump is one of the most successful conmen. Yet I don't want to give him too much credit, because his success is not based on persuasive skills, intelligence, or effort. He's a complete idiot, and he speaks like a complete idiot. Before, he simply rode on the reputation of his name. Then he just became a Republican. And as we are all well aware now, Republicans will vote for anyone, as long as they've got that R beside their name. But he's become more than that now. He's the unofficial cult leader of the party.
