Title: And yet ANOTHER ancient TV set
Post by: nuclear on November 08, 2022, 09:59:15 PM
I just received this 1979 Magnavox color TV set from Mercari today! (I paid about $96 for it - that's including shipping)

The camera doesn't capture the screen very well, but here's a pic anyway!

Does it receive any broadcasts?

The main broadcast channels are served via antenna, working on any old TV.

Aren't those mostly gone, though?

Last time I looked at this was when they were giving out coupons for free converters.

Yes, but I have to use a digital-to-analog converter box though.

That was what you got with a coupon. Coupon was free but you could only get one per household. I was digital so I gave mine to a cousin.
