Title: Weird Sega Genesis question?
Post by: nuclear on October 07, 2022, 11:01:58 PM
I know this question is strange and kinda out of left field, but how much did a Sega Genesis cost in 2001?

I mean, my guess (not answer because I don't know exactly) would be pretty cheap ($20-$30). If you think about, at that time it was a little old (definitely not current gen), but it wasn't exactly "retro" yet, so it wouldn't be jacked up to insane crack prices.

But yeah, maybe a thrift store in 2001-2002 might of had one on the cheap, maybe.

Just a random thought that came in.

Pretty much, yeah. Game systems seem to have one or two generations when they're no longer desirable and people take them to the thrift store to get rid of them.

I don't recall, but I think I got a Genesis around that time for about $50, but I also got a 32X, Sega CD and a bunch of games. Got rid of it because I was never that into the 16-bit era. I'm older.
